https://www.theage.com.au/business/companies/internet-providers-ordered-to-block-15-torrent-streaming-sites-by-federal-court-20180618-p4zm6b.html More blocked and I didn't know about them. They are named and as they are Geo Blocked it's not an issue with VPN.

Seems like they’re still only going after mainstream stuff. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I also never heard of them.

But all you need to get around it is a VPN or Change your DNS

Guess I am out of the Mainstream as never heard of any of them.

Yeah. Hopefully they are just going for Public Steaming and Torrent Sites.

Staying away from Private Trackers

Once they have closed the mainstream ones they will start hunting smaller services.

If torrent sites are largely about internet piracy of content provided via the work of actors, writers, producers and investors, then well done Foxtel. It’s theft, and should be dealt with accordingly as a police matter.

What on earth makes people think it is fair or honest to appropriate a professional’s work without consent or reasonable compensation ?

That is why some Private Trackers have Rules of not to speak of them Publicly so the Chances of getting Blocked or Taken Down is very Small.

Though I am on PleasureDome that been around for over 10 Years and That has Retro Games on it. Like Games that are 10+ Years Old

Nobody has 'stolen' anything. The work is still there and saps such as yourself are still able to pay your entertainment tax.

Perhaps I can use your front lawn. After all, it’ll still be there, and then other saps can pay parking taxes, not me.

A better analogy for a lot of private torrent sites (at the least, the one I’m on) would be using an abandoned carpark and fixing it up for public use while you’re at it.

I’m happy to be educated about this. I thought these sites were for illegal downloading of intellectual property without any payment to the originator, but Perhaps I do not understand their use in practice, How do they perform a public service ?
