Plenty of time to turn it around. Even last year, after round 20, we were sitting 6th, having lost 3 of the last 4, coming off a 2 point loss to Sydney after Moore's final injury.

It's been an up and down year for all the top teams. If we're good enough we'll make it.

I wonder about can we ????

Questions to ask do we have the players—-let’s say we had every available that could play a final series without breaking down could we win it even then

^of course. Our bottom 6 right now is seriously bad. Imagine if we had 8 of our best back and in form?
Sadly that’s not the case, this team is cooked. Last season we had hope, we were on the up, now we look to be on the slide and hope is fading fast.

Guess how open the Season has been. We just have to hit the Right Form in the Finals.

Dogs did it a few years ago finishing 6th so not Impossible I guess but Looks Very Unlikely at the Moment

Our silly losses to Freo and Hawthorn starting to bite us

I was thinking just this today - we could and should have won both of those games in which case we would be clear in 2nd and feeling confident about a Top 4 finish. Instead we're in 4th and wondering if we can hang in there /sigh

OTOH we had close wins against WCE, Dogs, Swans & Bummers. So considering our round 1 loss to the Cats, we're 4-3 in games <10 points which isn't too bad. In the context of our season, 6-1 seems wishful

Obviously beating Richmond this week would make it easier to finish Top 4, but they have WCE and Brions the last 2 rounds so if the results are mixed we might still fall in.

But GWS have a soft finish and a good % so it seems likely to me that they'll leapfrog us.

Cats have got to be a lock for the minor premiership with the soft 2H draw, which will make it all the sweeter when they don't make the GF again.

I can't really see us missing the finals so our games against Richmond, Essendon and Adelaide will determine where we finish from 4-8. Port and Hawks will be the upsetters and could help or hinder us.

Well we need to start winning again obviously.
Aim to make 4th spot to play Geelong; our best chance at a free-hit prelim.

It’d feel weird winning the flag this year, like we didn’t really deserve it. If that makes sense. Frustrating would be the word. I still want us to win of course! But it’d feel weird.

It’s never to late to push for a flag in September when you’re in the eight at the end of August.
The extra week off that all finalists now get off, means winning it from outside the top four is a possibility.
We have six weeks to begin playing decent footy and get some players back.
If that happens, we’re in it up to our neck.

Got a heck of work to do and a slice of luck (players back and getting sides we match up on better)

It ain’t over till it’s over and who knows how things will go & ya gotta be in it to win it (in the final 8 ) anything can happen

We'll need a bit of luck and no more injuries.

There's every chance we will have Moore, Greenwood, Aish, Stephenson and possibly Wells available for selection in September. Put those 5 into our side and we would absolutely smash the Tigers tonight.

HAHAHAHA

As if we'll regain players and NOT lose any more.

If we regain those guys, we'll lose Grundy, Pendles, Adams, Roughhead and De Goey.

Mate at work today said no one in the top 8 is really in form. Kind of true when you think about it.

Got time to turn it on. Starts tonight.

Winning it all from outside the top 4 is unrealistic, especially for us who were firmly IN it for most of the season.
Ive played with lots of scenarios & the ladder predictor, & it seems to me we are most likely to finish in 2nd spot or 5th spot. 3rd & 4th are nearly impossible due to %. GWS's big one & the big one we tossed away. One is much more likely than the other. We have to win ALL 5, including tonight to take 2nd. 5th is likely if we lose 1 or 2, even 3.

Other scenarios are possible, but depend on other sides. If we lose 1 we can make top 4 but its depending on other games. Given the draw & our form (or more accurately our inability to kick 10 goals) I wouldn't bet a bent 5c piece on us, after tipping us to win it all in Feb.

That said, we are the side MOST likely to change on a dime & find sudden form, but if we lose the first qtr tonite were in deep doo-doo.

I actually picked us to win it all unless Buckley fails to address the injury problem, he did just that. Failed. Just too hard in Sept with 8 missing from the 1st 22. But then our current best 22 have never played in the same game once.

Bloody sad, we're just giving flags to other, lesser sides.

Score at present makes tonight’s game difficult
Also the flag difficult
