With no game up here scheduled for the 2006 season, the Qld Magpies need to take a different approach to the memberships we offered last year. Of course the White Membership will still be offered, but we will need to make drastic changes to the Black Memberships. An idea I came up with was to incorporate a trip to Melbourne as our Black Membership for the year. Of course the fee will be a few hundred $$$$ more than it was last year, but that is obvious.

But what an excuse to go to Melbourne though.
If you are interested, let us know of any game you want to see or if a certain weekend doesn't suit your schedule.

We have a lot of time on our side, and it is sure to be another great year in the Life of the Qld Magpies.

We have had a great reaction regarding our idea to go Melbourne as part of the Black Membership for 2006. So far, with everything going according to plan we could be heading down for Anzac Day, and what a weekend it would be.
Current costs estimate it will be around $700 for the whole package, but we will also be selling function/game day packages if everything goes well.
We will try to organise a venue for a QLd Magpies Function on the Monday Night, and if possible squeeze in a few other things as well. It will be a huge COllingwood weekend.

Look forward to hearing from anyone with ideas on this weekend.

knowing that the Anzac Day game is always a sell out, perhaps you could contact the Club now and discuss the ticketing to see if they can assist with it?

Also contact the Club to see if you could hold something in the Lexus Centre, although if you have a function it's quite expensive but Eddie came to the party for the Nick's function and we got the Lexus bar and cafe for no charge, just everyone had to pay for their food and drinks. Not sure they'd do it again, but it's worth a try. Would also give you all the chance to see the place.

Good luck and hope to see a few of you down here Wink

Thanks guys for you advice. We are in the very preliminary stages getting a feel for interest in the trip. So far so good. Have spoken to and will continue to speek to the club on this matter in the coming days and weeks.
Any advice is appreciated.

Tess once again I apreciate you speaking out at the AGM last year, keep pushing them for us, and I will owe you another drink.

The tour of Lexus may be very difficult for us, as they only do tours on Thursday, and seeing as the game is on a Tuesday, it would mean we have to be down for almost a week, and most workers couldn't do that. The accomodation prices would also go through the roof. It would be ideal for us if they did a Monday tour, but unfortunatley they don't.
