My partner and I are just starting to get into it - it's good exercise and you get so much further than walking.
I got a bike just before xmas and we've ridden on the Easlink Trail from Ringwood to Jells Park and also from Ringwood to Elgar Park a few times.
We're investigating where the bike tracks are in and around the city and we'll take the bikes by car and try them out - I prefer the flat ones
Are there any you can recommend? _________________ If you bleed black and white you'll never walk alone. |

i try to avoid the bike paths because of the people that walk them and some slighty dodgy paths.
but one path i do ride regularly is the city trail which takes you around the river through richmond, kew, fitzroy, parkville, north melbourne and the docklands.
there's a nice easy path from the city to st kilda beach via port melbourne [adjacent to the light rail] and south melbourne. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

You mean you ride on the road?
Too dangerous for me. I tried riding motorbikes on the road a few times - dicing with death! Only ride off road now.
The City to St Kilda is one we're looking at doing - thanks. _________________ If you bleed black and white you'll never walk alone. |

That explains the avatar, it's you up off the seat.
Love to go for a ride with you, but I think getting to you would tire me out before we even started _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

I cycle quite a bit.... as soon as the bloody snow melts, I'll get back into cycling to work... quicker than the tube, Cricklewood to Victoria (London, not Oz) in half an hour!
Melb to Frankston I might pass on though! |

I do a bit of cycling.
Cycled from Hue to Nha Trang in Vietnam in 2007 as part of a charity ride.
Also go in the 'Critical Mass' bike rides as well in Sydney and now in London. If you have never been on one they are great... usually the last Friday of every month and you go on an unscripted ride around the city. Every November in Sydney the ride goes over the Harbour Bridge.

A good website for those who want bicycle routes try the Bikely website: http://www.bikely.com/
Just search the suburb of where you want to go and most likely another cyclist has uploaded a quick route through the backstreet avoiding cars and using the bike lanes.
You can upload your own paths as well. _________________ Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club

I'd love to, although I might have to buy a bike first. Otherwise, I have been wanting to get back into riding recently.
You're in Melbourne already Lasalle? Let me know if you'd like to catch up for a coffee over the next few weeks. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
