You should research more before you post that comment.Read the club website.

Bit of respect - the guy who just about runs the General Discussion and Other AFL Boards on Nicks for us asks a polite question and you have the temerity to tell him to "research more"?

Blair has played 152 more games for my beloved Magpies than I have, and for that I envy the hell out of him. Period.

I'm not flying the Blair flag, but your OP is misleading. He averages just over 12 possessions a game, not 4.

learn how to spell "statistically" and I'll give your reply the time it currently doesn't deserve.

Granted & good luck oi the guy, he is a premiership player.

However, the majority of us are trying to work out why he is still in the side?

Tackling, YES

Everything else, goals, disposals, influence, marking,? NO

😣

Exactly. But this doesn't suit the argument that is trying to be made so it is omitted. Much like the handball stats, tackling stats.

Surely, if you are posting something based on stats, you would include them all but much like the anti-Bucks brigade, just mention what suits. No chance of being balanced.

One stat Blairy still leads in is getting caught after having two chance to dispose of the ball. Why doesn't the coach remove this weakness from his game? He did it again with 20 seconds to play.

A free 50 to 60 metres away from their 50 metre line, with a chance to reset the defensive structures?

I for one thought he played alright today, but we need someone of his experience to be making the right calls late in the game.

Same applies to Goldsack today

The real problem is our depth and that is why Blair continues to get a game. I would hope that after this trade and draft period he would play very few next year (that's if he gets another 1 year contract).

He has been a great servant of the club and always gives 100% but I'm desperate like most other posters for an upgrade.

Yeah that ended well for us, didn't it...

Why doesn't the coach remove this player from our game, more to the point?

Exactly, for some reason both Buckley and some posters seem to tolerate game losing flaws in players that would never be tolerated outside of the Collingwood system. Watched the game with Cow's supporting mate, who stated David Mackay is their Jarryd Blair, yet he kicked about the same number of goals and doesn't get routinely pinged for holding the ball . When the chips were down Blair reverted to doing the same dumb errors he makes every time he plays and it was instrumental in why Adelaide stole a draw. We make far too many excuses for mediocrity, Blair premiership player, Langdon will recapture early career form, Maynard has go. I'm over hearing excuses for crap which would never be tolerated elsewhere and not having the coach address these fundamental flaws which lose games and will continue to at the slightest sign of pressure
