He was great to play with in Junior footy. His brain and footy skills where on a different level even at that age.
I wish him all the best and he's a top bloke.
Coaching spot next year?

1000% would get him. Need to get a current day player in to teach the young forwards

The single greatest moment from Nick in a glittering career:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ8jU7zgUVE

That's how St Kilda players should be remembered.

That's harsh, PnC - thanks to Shaw's magnificence, some footage of Nick will get a run every Grand Final day for as long as football is played. Instead of being a loser footnote in Grand Final history, he's front and centre - with the ball (almost) in his hands - in one of the most perfect moments in professional sport.

Laughing yes, and look at all those saints fans behind the goals, they all rise as one in raptures, only to sink back down again, with pained disappointment. Razz

That was the biggest psychological blow we could have imagined inflicting on them; dispossessing them of the ball on their goal line.
There was no coming back from that.

TRUE, my son in law was there, and when that happened, he commented, "We,ve got them on the run now. !" Cool

But despite his emotional limitation he was definitely an elite football.

Personally not a fan in some ways but his skill cannot be denied.

In that case, I would suggest you have little appreciation of the game that is AFL football then.
I love Collingwood, but I applaud all the champions of the game and Nick Rievoldt is definitely one of those.

Plus one. Not only had the skills, he didn't need to be a nasty prick to get the ball. Aka a few hawk retiree. A gentleman, a superstar. I wish him well and thank him for the memories. (Um yeah the Shaw one will haunt him, my god it was good, that was the point when I thought, oh my god, they can't beat us!)

Yep one of the greats - that suicidal mark he took a few years ago is the stuff of folklore.

I was thinking that Darcy Moore is starting to play a bit like Reivoldt - motors around the ground and his marking is improving day by day.
