Good luck. It doesn’t get any better than watching your kids play finals. |

I don't pretend to have much if any knowledge of American football (so forgive me if my terminology is wrong) but in some way I can't help but feel the demented wombat is filling a similar role to that of a defensive lineman or linebacker in slowing up the opposition by sticking tackles or using his large frame to create time and space for our more polished midfielders to win clean possession.
He might be limited, with a ceiling not as high as a Sier but you can almost guarantee what you are going to get from him contest after contest in every game he plays.
Glad he's been retained and given this opportunity in a final.
The rest is now up to him. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Protesters to 'swarm' Melbourne's CBD ahead of blockbuster MCG final
by Charlotte Grieve, The Age, September 6, 2019 — 8.12am
Climate activists are planning to "swarm" Melbourne's CBD and block busy streets on Friday as tens of thousands of football fans descend on the city for a blockbuster final at the MCG.
Police and public transport operators are bracing for evening peak-hour disruptions, with protesters – mostly students aged 20 to 25 – set to meet at the State Library of Victoria on Swanston Street about 5pm where they will then separate and meet at a series of undisclosed locations to block foot and road traffic.
A spokesman for Yarra Trams said it was difficult to warn commuters about delays as the protesters had provided them with little information.
"We'll just have to wait ... to see how it unfolds. We don't have a whole lot of information as to what's going to take place," he said.
The protesters have drawn inspiration from pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong, who use movement to avoid arrest and blockades to shut off streets.

Morons. Protesting Global Warming when it's pissing with rain (Chris Scott). Typical of these ideological turds! And I'm only talking about Geelong supporters. |

That is bloody huge! We all knew it was a factor (Adams came back around the same time too), but to see the stats back that up is eye-opening. I'm expecting a big game from TayTay tonight too.
Wrapping up the office job, gonna grab dinner, and then head to the mighty MCG to see the Pies smash the Cats! Carn the Maggies! Stick it up them and do us proud!!!
And if I hear any Cats supporters boo our boy Stephenson at the TAB... I might spend the night in the lockup! |

While I have a quiet confidence about a game against Geelong once again it's counted for nothing on the last 3 occasions.
We shouldn't be under any illusion to the quality of opposition we face as sides don't finish top of the ladder simply because of luck.
They're a very good side and it'll take our best or close enough to it to win.
Let's hope that's exactly what we produce.

I wish it didn't rain...it suits the bigger bodies Pussies more than us. I wanted a fast hard ground so we could exploit them with our pace.
We need to find a way too score. Our average in the last 3 games against them is under 60 points...so they have been successful in shutting down our forwards.
Cmon Pies.
Need to win as I fear the loser tonight gets bounced out by WC next week and I'd prefer the Pussies to go out in straight sets. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Good call Swoop and I’m “ pleased “ to say I have been one of his biggest defenders on here.
What he does very well, is kill the contest at the centre bounce.
It gives us a decided advantage in two ways. It allows Grundy an even bigger advantage from the ensuing ball up and it also means we can set up the extra in defence ( if we choose to ) because 6 6 6 is no longer in play ( although obviously the opposition can too )
I admire Wills because he wants to play at the best level. You don’t get 30 touches and lay 8 tackles every week in the VFL unless you’re driven to be better.
He has his limitations but a big heart isn’t one of them.
Go get em Rupert. |

Well I've been quietly confidant all week but feeling decidedly nervous today.
And good call Swoop, they're no slouches. I'm expecting a close one tonight. |

Seems to be some talk that Stanley could be a late out which would mean Blicavs is moved to the ruck position.
We'll find out at 6.20pm. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
