The two points is a good get-out from what should have been a thrashing. It's actually remarkable that the team came back from it's early stupor. Too many players down - it's a wonder it was even a contest. |
Perfect summary of the game. My worry is next week. |

I would expect all 3 vote getters will be Essenden players on Brownlow night. That makes it a very strange game. Unlucky not to win despite relying on. Maybe 8 players to carry the load.
Yet, Essendon also unlucky not to win.
Stringer in the middle was a factor. We have no big mids to go with a bull like Stringer. In fact, our mid today was very poor. Old or slow _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

No.
After their fuckingfreekick+goal avalanche to the Dopers in 1st qtr, they were just as fuckinguseless for the remaining three quarters.
Turned it off once Langford marked AGAIN uncontested at the death.
Sick of these close games. Seriously sick.
And 8-point game diminished to a 2-point one; thanks to our own lairising and ineptitude with disposal.
Our biggest thrashing in the centre since the Whorethorn debacle of 2023.
Will cut players some slack after the shortened week.
Play like this next week though, and i'll be naming-names with impunity. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever

^ that is the worry, we have too many 30+ who we rely on week in week out, with nothing coming from the seconds.
Very lucky to get away with the 2 points.
Can't keep coming g from behind Collingwood, other sides are too switched on now. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Am I the only one who feels De Goey is way out of form? He is getting possessions but his disposal is awful. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Steele shoulda been subbed for HH.
Anyway 2 pts is better than 0 pts.
So many guns below par today. We are still tracking positively I reckon. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

80 less possessions & 17 less clearances
Yet only 2 less I50’s & they didn’t lose. |

Well that was a rollercoaster of a game. Both teams got the momentum back and a lot of lead changes.
But this was really a lost opportunity. Giving away those 6 first quarter goals in almost a blink.
A lot of behinds from us (Essendon’s own wastefulness helped us in the end).
And at times we would make a tackle but somehow the Essendon players would get it away. If only we could have made a few more of those tackles stick.
One thing I noticed through this game and have been noticing for a while is Jordan DeGoey has really bad judgement when making a handball. The number of times he handballs to a player under pressure, or misses a target. I would love to see some stats on that.
Game will go down as a classic. A draw like the first ever ANZAC game.
And Jamie’s mark was iconic. _________________ Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club

He was getting the ball, looked to be getting in the right spots but his disposal, especially by hand, was terrible today. Lost count how many times he handballed and then a turn over happened. _________________ Magpie Jumper Gallery:

On the train home and it would seem bummer supporters are more content with the draw than we are. Given the grief we've given them in recent seasons that's understandable.
Not sure how I feel, it's always a bit weird. Been at both draws and the 2010 GF now. I've never watched the replays and won't watch ths one. I guess thats saying something _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |
