He doesn’t get a lot of adulation, so I just want to say well done to Crisp. His work was absolutely outstanding today – one of our absolute guns.

More than any other player, De Goey has transformed our team. Our weakness this year imo has been our failure to win centre clearances, even when Grundy wins the hitouts. Today we saw the value of the raging bull we've always known Jordy could become. His powerful inside work and running thru packs out of the centre was simply superb. If we can keep winning that battle, we can win the phucking flag.

Just watched that over 8 beers in Phuket.

Some observations:

* four quarters effort. Yes! Thank you Lordy.
* we actually thrashed them. Scoring shots tell the stats tale but we moved the ball fluently at all times, theirs was stop start and their goals were often due to silly, unusual mistakes on our part
* we got the better of the umpiring. Not by much, but there were some 50-50 calls we were on the right side of. No impact on the game.
* De Goey was clearly best on ground but I have absolutely no issue with Coxy getting it. He was a star. Every touch showed something different, especially and including clean ground ball pickups and deft handballs. Look out!!
* Chris Mayne is a very smart, VERY GOOD footballer.
* Love Crispy
* How ironic that Tom Phillips now gets assigned one of their best and hence that player has no influence
* Love it when the ball is in Pendles hands. Allows one to take a breath from the frenetic play
* Derek Hine salivating at Grundy at pick 18, couldn’t get his name out fast enough, love it
* WHE. Certainty, capability, and precision. Thanks GWS.
* Jeremy Howe, would have loved this day more than anyone. Perhaps bar Lynden.

I could go on but I’m a happy Pie.

More a combo of things i.e more pace, a tighter back line and a little more consistency... but yes it's a very open year, and its a big win - if we can back it up over the next 3 games, well be a long way to making the finals... and even finishing top 4 - anything is then possible, specially if we can avoid playing Richmond until the GF.

Our number of capable full forwards grows by the week.

Everyone is raving about JDG as a goal kicker after his couple of fives. Then it was WHE with 6 straight last week (he has been amazinig this year. 7th in the Coleman with 27 goals, one behind Darling who everyone is raving about).

Today though we start with Stephenson as our deepest forward and he towels up the supposed AA in Jetta. 7 shots at goal and kicked 4.

Then Cox steps up and dominates around goal with 5.

The key to us winning games is our mids getting on top and that's why JDG was the clear best afield. It was easier for our forwards because we smashed the Dees in clearances, especially winning in the centre 18-10. But, the sheer number of options we have up forward is making it very tough for the opposition to cover us once our mids get into space. And it's getting tougher the more our confidence grows.

JDG interviewed by Mark Stevens: says he loves the club and is close to signing, they're just working out the details.

Couldn't really get more clear a statement that he's staying.

Today’s game will help greatly in keeping him. Who’d really want to leave a team that could be anything right now, for .... St Kilda ?

Don't forget to mention the importance of pressure at the contest and Adams provides a lot of that.

Adams was very good today (I gave him 2 votes) as well as last week.

My main comment on Adams is that we need him in at the contest. The last two weeks he has been and has done well.

Yep, he and Josh Thomas are two of the lesser lights who have taken their careers to another level entirely this year. How good was the
Beams trade ????

This consistent win shows a polish and consistency that we haven't had since '12.

I only wish Krak Magic was here to share the joy with us.
