Now that Joffa has absolutely cleaned-up on the Caulfield Cup, I'm sure he won't mind shouting beers all round. But make mine a lemon squash ... I don't drink beer.

And while we're on the subject ...

I hate to do this to you, maggee_pye, but next week is Australia's greatest horse race, the Cox Plate, at Moonee Valley.

And it's shaping up as a match race between Sky Heights, owned by Collingwood Football Club board member, Jack Kennedy, and the champion mare from New Zealand, Sunline.

Sky Heights was sensational winning at Caulfield last start, but Sunline is one of the greatest race mares ever seen in this country.

So ... who will win the battle between the Magpies and the All-Blacks?

My tip is Sky Heights to win narrowly from Sunline ... with a long gap to whichever horse comes third.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there Alf, Sunline is an absolute champion and will not be beaten. If I owned a house it would be wagered on Sunline in the Cox Plate.

OK Fletch.

I'll bet my non-existent BMW against your non-existent house. And when Sky Heights wins, I'll send my non-existent stand-over men around to collect.

Throw in a night with your super-model wife and you've got yourself a deal AFL Andrews.

To all the little punters out there if you can get $2 or better on Sunline..SMASH IT!

Scotty Einsteiner good to see ya pal, did you enjoy your trip to Australia?

I didn't know you were a horse racing fan, but obviously not a very good one if you think that stinkin Sydney horse Tie the Knot will be coming home hard.

P.S Good luck with your title shot at Halloween Havoc.

I had Kaapstad Way and Fairway, but alas not Diatriabe. Let's face it, that Hanlon guy had not won a Caulfield Cup in over 80 years, how could you expect him to start now. So I didn't.

Plenty of people at the races (I have to do something to keep me amused). While I was waiting at the front of the main entrance, a minibus pulled up and half the Essendon football team got out. They milled around for so long, that I had to restrain myself from singing "We're Black, we're White." They were probably guests of the VRC or whoever runs Caulfield. The spoils fall to the premiers.

KAAPSTADS WAY will win the melb cup
the only worry is the rain if its rain effected
dont get on it.

of course the only worry are these bloody european nags!!!

But the run of kaapstads way in the caulfield cup
was sensational dont worry this thing will be flying all over them over 3200 metres

COX PLATE

u gotta get on sky heights, sunliner is a champ
but sometimes i get the feeling that when under pressure
it tends to give in.GO SKY HEIGHTS!!!!!
