Bulls have no beef with MacGill

By Ben Dorries - Fox

QUEENSLAND have attempted to thaw the ice with hot-blooded NSW legspinner Stuart MacGill by saying they hold no grudge over his antics in past clashes between the rival states.

But Steve Waugh's last two games in Brisbane may be overshadowed by the rivalry between the Queenslanders and feisty MacGill.

Bulls batsman Clinton Perren has been given two controversial sendoffs in the past two seasons.

In a Pura Cup match at the SCG last season, MacGill put his thumbs to his cheeks and poked a face at Perren after an lbw appeal was upheld.

The season before, Perren dropped his glove. MacGill picked it up and retreated into the NSW team huddle and as Perren reached for the glove, MacGill clutched it to his chest, made a comment and threw it back at him.

MacGill dominated Queensland with the ball last season taking 5-16 and 3-43 to skittle the Bulls in the Pura Cup final at the Gabba.

The leggie saves his best for the Bulls, taking 48 wickets in 12 Pura Cup matches at an average of 26.

But Queensland believe they won't let MacGill dominate today's ING Cup match at the Gabba or the Pura Cup clash starting on Sunday.

"We hold no fears of MacGill. He's a good bowler but no one will be going out there worrying about how they are going to play him," Bulls skipper Jimmy Maher said.

"Queensland and NSW have traditionally had a great rivalry and it is as close as a cricketer will get to a State of Origin sort of feeling and that's something we really thrive on."

Perren played a straight bat, denying any ill-feeling with MacGill.

NSW quick Nathan Bracken is in doubt after picking up a finger injury to his bowling hand against WA.

After the rain, the game got going again and The Bulls made 229.

MacGill took 2/28 from his 10 overs and was a big part of the Bulls' lowish total.

Kasprowicz (3/34 from 9 overs) bowls Clark and the pendulum swings further toward The Bulls.

O'Brien goes to Hauritz and with MacGill to come, well ... you work it out. Very Happy

38 needed from 30 balls.
-------------------------------------------

26 needed from 18. MacGilla is looking determined. Very Happy

Oops. Hopes bowls Bolinger and MacGill is really pissed off !! Laughing

The Bulls win and keep their hopes alive. They are 1 point behind second placed Victoria.
