Ah JLC, where is yr darling boy scoring his runs ??? At state level, good on him but so are several other players. Just a slightly different level .
I do think Damien is finished on the evidence of this OD series. Tests, well he may get the tour as a last chance saloon. Katich does deserve more opportunities at OD level and Clarke should progress to the higher order in the next season. What he does with it is in his hands.
Sorry can't see Bradley getting a run. He's the same age as Katich, Hussey and the like and they conceivably offer more to the side. _________________ he's an animal, what can u expect!!! |

Scoring runs is an important part but other considerations do come into play.
1. Is there a vacancy at the time that you are scoring these runs. Life CAN be tough if you are in top form but there is no one in the top side whose form genuinely warrants being dropped or there are no injuries.
2. Do you fit the vacancy ?? It can be tough luck if there is a vacancy for an opening bat and you are a middle order player in great form. Conversely, a batsman with bowling ability can fit the bill. Case in point , Katich got the job when Lehmann went lame because he was scoring lots of runs and his spin bowling made it an exact fit at the time. _________________ he's an animal, what can u expect!!! |
