I have been bombarded by people saying 'oh my god'
I felt like jumping through the TV and thrashing Ashalea from Big Brother last night.

Can't these immature types use better words to express their emotions or do they really have a limited vocabulary.

Like ... y'know ... oh my god ...

Curse of the modern world ... along with mobile phones and text messages.

I must have been a bad boy somewhere along the line ... and my punishment is that I have to live in the 21st century ...

... OH MY GAAAAAAAAAHD !

But even worse than the above verbal obscenities are the crap that comes out of the mouths of footballers ...

We've all heard about the ubiquitous "yeah ... nah" ... but the one that really shits me up the wall is ... "obviously".

Have you ever noticed how many times footballers say "obviously" when they get interviewed?

Everything is always "obviously".

"Well, obviously, they're a good side ... and we needed to start well, obviously ... and their big blokes were taking lots of marks, so obviously we had to shut them down ... "

Why interview footballers at all? ... Most of them haven't got a brain to bless themselves with ... and if all they can do is state the bleeding obvious, then why bother?

No, you've got it wrong, Alf.

The word is 'ovussly' or, at best, 'obvussly' and it's right up there with 'hopefully'.

Obviously, it's way over used but also most often used incorrectly, anyway. As in, "We want to obvussly win the GF" instead of, "We obviously want to .." etc. Or the very silly, "We want to hopefully win .."

Apart from all of that, the most prominent answer to any question these days is, "Aw look ..." And the most extreme example? Try Terry Wallace.

"OMG... "

lol Its terrible that people these days just dont have a good enough grasp of the english language to introduce better use of available vocab into their conversations.

I dont understand what is so good about talking like you have no idea how to compose a proper sentence. Send everyone back to bloody primary school.

And before that it was "basically".

And my pet hate term "...and at the end of the day...", which i guess is the latest re-phrasing of "when it's all said and done" or "what it all boils down to is".

I swear this is the truth:

I once heard a politician say:

"At the end of the day, the sun will rise tomorrow."

Translation: When all is said and done, life goes on.

I kid you not.

Can't remember who it was now ... but I definitely heard a politician say it.
