I'm working on the assumption that the DVD will only work in Oz, cos theyhave different zones coded in to them. Anyone know any details regarding this?

LD, you should be able to get a "mod" chip that decodes any of the "Zones". I just bought a DVD/VCR player from a reputable manufacturer that has the "mod" chip already in place. Just ask at a retailer of your DVD brand as they all do these modifications these days. (I know this as one of my fav bands has reformed and done a DVD of a concert that is not being released in Oz so I have to import it)

Dave
All DVD players can be "dezoned" if you go to the right technician, and some (the JVC as an example), require only software decoding, so that if you do a search on the net, you may infact find that by pushing an obscure sequence of buttons on your front panel, that you can zone the player to what ever zone you want.
Besides alot of documentary , and sport DVDs are coded to play in all zones, so first port of call is to email AFL videos , and find out if it is "zone" effected.
