There is no need to apologize. What if it didn't happen? |

That's pretty hilarious, given the frenzy of political sloganeering you've been indulging yourself in lately. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. John Butler was a tosser, Rove was okay, but nothing special, and alot of his jokes died in the arse.
Ended up turning the channel because I got bored, and Cold Case was on. |

Very good cross promotion, atleast Buttler earned his awards it wasn't given to him by channel 10 for being on their channel every 5 mins.
Real music by real people, who wrote his own songs and not just a puppet. |

Inappropriate my arse, Greg. I'm sure if they'd pledged to honour the flag and serve the Queen you'd have stood and applauded! _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. The point is that John Butler has as much right to hold a political opinion as Magpie Greg does. And he equally has a right to express that opinion in front of a national television audience. It was good enough for John Lennon. Bed-in, anyone? Give Peace A Chance? Power To The People? None of those were political statements, were they?
There seems to me to be a tendency among the "winners" on this board to think that, post-election, the dissenters should just shut up because the people have spoken. Well, the people have indeed spoken, and I respect that decision. But last time I checked Australia was still a democracy, and that means the minority who DIDN'T vote for the incumbents are entitled to a modicum of respect, too. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. I simply don't believe you when you say the issue is one of time and place, Greg. You nailed your political colours to the mast long ago. It's what John Butler said that bugs you, not when or where.
Denigrating anyone who disagrees with you as "losers" only highlights your own disregard and disrespect for the opinions and feelings of others. I remind you that about 48.5 percent of this country hold "minority views". We are not losers, and we care just as passionately about the future of Australia as you do.
If you really want to ship us all off to North Korea, as you suggested in another thread in VPT, perhaps that implies it's you, in fact, who would be happier in a one-party state, where everyone agreed with you - and woe betide anyone who didn't. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. Sigh, Greg. As usual, when you're having trouble mustering a decent response, you go for the personal invective. But this is what you said:
magpie greg wrote: | Birdy wrote: | Perhaps we could ship all the left-wing radicals off to Iraq. If they hate our great country so much they might enjoy a change of scenery. |
Nah, North Korea would be good. Or maybe send them to visit Slobo. |
So I guess I was wrong, in that Birdy proposed the motion. You, however, seconded it.
I don't think you really believe it, by the way. But I do think it highlights your fear and loathing towards anyone who dares disagree with you. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media.
