The death toll rising rapidly ... 12,000+ at last count.
Natural disasters are certainly on the increase. We are living in very unstable times. I think our great planet is finally saying, "enough". |

Devastating tragedy. Whole families, whole villages, entire towns wiped out. Down south here (Thailand, where I live), some of the pictures coming through are just unbelievable in terms of damage and carnage.
The true death toll will almost certainly never be known as in some of the areas in India, Indonesia and Burma it will be impossible to really tell.
Burma for example says they have lost 10 people, remember they are under a military dictatrorship so that probably means 10 Burmans are missing. However, having been to that part of Burma I can tell you that the region is littered with ethnic minority tribes that live in the jungles and in the Mergui Archipelago.
This is a very sad day indeed and millions will need help. |

Finally, Alf ? It's been screaming out for decades.
People (governments) just prefer not to acknowledge.
Tess, the A$10 mill. is an upfront figure and will certainly NOT stretch our resources.
Look what was spent on the re-election campaign. _________________ Donny.

Very very sad to watch. I've had some great times in Phuket & Thailand and was actually there at this particular time just 4 years ago.
Beautiful people the Thais and their entire livelihoods are now destroyed.
The West should dig deep into their pockets very quickly as this is going to devastate millions of people. _________________ Hearing the 'Black & White Army' roar is the greatest sound in the world. |

This is a terrible tragedy, apparently there was an earthquake near Tassie not that long ago someone was telling me? I just hope the devastation stops here. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

There's no doubt that the east coast of Australia will take a pounding when that big New Zealand earthquake eventually happens.
It could happen tomorrow ... or it could happen in 1,000 years from now.
But that's no excuse for Australia not to do whatever it can to help the victims of this present disaster. |

Demon defender Troy Broadbridge is reported missing. My thoughts are with his family. Lets hope he is found safe and well.
BTW - Ryan Houlahan and David Clarke (Carlton) have been reported missing - any news on it? |

Like to hear a comment from the god lovers.
What excuse does your god have to oversee a tragedy like this? |

Shit, it just gets worse. I'm actually surprised, in a good way more Aussies havn't been harmed considering Thailand is a popular tourist destination and it's holiday season.
I hope the governments warnings not to travel to Indonesia due to terrorists recently did persuade a few people from going over. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |
