awww Tess, that was just soooo sad and sounds so much how I got my previous dog. She was elderly, obviously had been loved and house trained and then just dumped by the side of the road at 8am one day, when she was still there at 5pm, the Service Station owner rang the Blue Cross and we adopted her.

Sadly she's no longer with us, but Min was just the most beautiful natured dog you could imagine, we had 4 wonderful years with her.

Now, I have a puppy.....I'm pulling out my hair, while she's pulling out everything in the back yard!!! She's 6 months old and I get her brother today as well.

These 2 pups were also rescued. They were the 4 remaining pups of a litter of 8 where the mother had run off and the owner wanted to kill them. My nephew and his mate rescued the four and they are now with people who love them dearly, even if they do mess up the back yard, occasionally pee on the carpet, shed hair/fur, don't do what they are told and bark unnecessarily. I wouldn't be without Miss Diva and i'm sure i'll feel the same way when Gizmo joins us this afternoon!

(both have been to puppy school and have certificates to prove it, but it's made NO difference !)

I don't like dogs much myself, but I just can't understand how someone could dump a dog somewhere because they didn't want to look after it any more. Once you decide to take care of an animal, it is surely your duty not to abandon it.
