Post subject: Coverage of Saints game in Adelaide | |
|
We are in the terrible position in Adelaide that one of the SA teams are playing at the same time as Collingwood this week, and FOXTEL have the rights for the Port game. Channel Ten also will be televising the FOX coverage of the Port game.
SA Magpies have used all there resources to hunt out somewhere to watch the game, besides going bush for the day.
The Rosemont Hotel in Adelaide is the only place to be!

ROUND 14
Collingwood v St Kilda, Sat 7th July
**LIVE** 1:30pm, Rosemont Hotel
PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE FROM THE USUAL GJH
Rosemont Hotel is on the corner of Hindley and Morphett Streets in Adelaide, and have welcomed Collingwood supporters into the Hotel with a room set aside for us to watch the game.

Details to follow as Rounds 15, 16 and 21 Collingwood fans will be in the same position in Adelaide as this week, and as we have been a few times this year already. Thanks to the AFL must "improved" footy coverage deal for this. (This is entirely my thoughts on this matter and in no way reflect the views and or opinions of the Collingwood Football Club or the SA Magpies) _________________ Kaylene.

Good on you Kaylene! I've just distributed an email to SA Magpies members on another potential source of live vision into Adelaide for Saturday's game (and rounds 15, 16, 21??). Here is the email...
Dear 'Pies Fans,
The current TV Broadcasting licences for AFL footy has generated unprecedented revenue for the AFL.
Despite this windfall, on Saturday 'Pies fans in SA will be neglected while Power fans will have the choice of watching their game against the Bulldogs LIVE on BOTH FOX and TEN! This ludicrous scenario will happen to ~ 5 Collingwood games this season.
At the start of the year, SA Magpies protested this point at length with AFL's Media Manager Patrick Keane. While our argument was both strong and persistent, the AFL were unfortunately never going to tell the broadcasters what to televise.
So a change of tact generated 2 alternatives:
1.
*******************************************************************************
A venue with specialised broadcasting capabilities has been arranged for SA Magpies members to watch Pies v Saints LIVE. So, if you're a 2007 SA Magpies Member (or want to join for 2007), come to the Rosemont Hotel (Cnr Morphett and Hindley Streets) at 1.30pm.
Thanks to Scott Donnelly for his role in arranging this.
*******************************************************************************
2.
*******************************************************************************
In a conversation with Foxtel today, they said if enough people phone them and ask for the 'Pies v Saints game LIVE, they will adjust the programming and broadcast the game on their "Main Event" channel.
Apparently last week in Sth Qld, enough supporters rang Foxtel to make them change their scheduling so their game was televised on Foxtel's Main Event Channel.
So, if you want LIVE vision of 'Pies v Saints on FOX on Saturday (instead of waiting til the replay on Sunday morning), OR just to send a messsage of protest in principle, please call 131 999 and follow the prompts to PROGRAMMING (I think its press 6) to request Round 14 Collingwood V St Kilda (& ‘Pies in Rounds 15, 16 and 21) to be televised LIVE on their Main Event channel.
Note, this week SA Magpies will be watching it at the Rosemont Hotel regardless of Foxtel's programming.
*******************************************************************************
Collingwood is playing exciting footy at the moment and the developing youngsters promise a positive future. Lets watch it together!
Go ‘Pies,
Marty
