JA INTERVIEW
Hi all,
Just a note to advise that I am currently organsing an interview with JA which I will post here in the coming weeks. If you have any questions you would like to ask Jack, please post them here. I will then put all the questions together, we will get Jack to answer them for us, and then post his replies.
It's a good opportunity for us to remind JA that although he may not be out on the field this season that we are still thinking of him and looking forward to seeing him in a black and white guernsey and playing senior footy in 2008. It's also a chance to see how he is spending his time during his forced 'rest', how his recovery is going and how he is finding life at the CFC!
So ask away.........................
(And please keep everything nice!!!)
Marg

Couple of obvious ones
1. What stage is his recovery at? eg, I'm guessing he isn't doing any contested work at this stage but is he able to run, do weights etc.
2. Does he have a program mapped out with milestones to tick off on the way or is he just playing it by ear and taking advice from the doctors?
3. How confident is he of getting back into (first of all) Willie ones and then playing good football in order to start putting his hand up for Magpies selection considering he's unfortunately given some other young blokes a year to consolidate their positions?
4. How is he mentally at the moment? It must have been a hell of a shock considering what happened to Blake last year. Has he had any counselling to help him get over the mental side of things
5. How does he view things at the moment, is the glass half full or half empty? Ie, is he seriously pissed at missing the season or happy that it could have been a lot worse and he's still got next year to show his stuff? Or both??
6. What does he think of some of the new draftees personality wise? Who's the extrovert who has to be in everything? Whose the quiet focused one? Who's the one you look at one the training track and say to yourself, "shit, how did he do that?" etc.
7. Do you have a different perspective on the club or have you learned much more about it since you've been sidelined? And if so, what?
8. How do the young guys (yourself included) find the attention from fans, both positive and negative, particularly when you're out of uniform (so to speak)
9. Do you or any of the other young guys read the internet bulletin boards or even post on them anonymously? How do they feel when they read negative posts?
That'll do for now, I'll think up some more later. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

* Who do you model your game on (if at all) - Past and Present Players?
* Who was your idol as a young lad, and why?
* What position do you think suits you best?

Prior to the draft who did you follow/barrack for, if you did'nt barrak for collingwood has you views changed of our club since being there.
as a young player coming from tac football how do you handle the pressure demands expected by the club, fans and media obviously that has increased tenfold. or do you focus on your own individual program that the club wants to follow in terms of fitness, strength program then progress into the system.
who are the practical jokers at the club.
have you seen or been on the end of one of micks sprays is it scary. |

How hard can John train, is he just running and doing weights, or does he train full?
What position would he like to play? _________________ Kaylene.

How exciting is it to be at Collinwood with all the 21 and younger players and are you all in awe of Bucks and Burns? |

Has he sat in the coaches box to see whats happening in there?
What coach spends the most time with him?
What is the skill or area do the coaches say you need to work on the most?
What is the skill or area do the coaches say you do best?
What is the injury exactly (I know its to do with a collision and the impact on his neck, but is it dammaged disks or what)? Is there possibility of long term problems with it or most likely to heal 100% ?
What is he doing to keep his fitness/skills up at a high level or is this not possible?
Is he doing any reviews of the game's great defenders such as SOS, Pert, and even attending games and just watching Rutton/Fletcher/Clement/Presti? or the current forwards to learn their tricks, like Lloyd, Reiwolt, Brown, etc?
Hope that helps. Best wishes on his recovery! |

Thought I'd throw in a few more, some Bio type stuff.
1. Tell us a bit about yourself from a personal perspective.
a. How many in the family? Any Brothers and sisters? If yes how old are they? Any other extended family that were really close?
b. What sort of kid do you think you were growing up? Inside or outside; hypo or quiet? How were you at school, were you always interested in footy or did you have other hobbies (and if so what were they). How do you think your Dad would describe what you were like growing up?
c.Which people growing up do you think had the most influence over the person you are now and how you play your sport? How? Give examples.
d. (one for the chicks ) Do you have a girlfriend at the moment? If yes, how long have you been together and where did you meet her? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
