After walking out on the Magpies early last week, Tarrant today met with new coach Mick Malthouse, who convinced the 19-year-old to stick with AFL football.

Tarrant, who lives in Melbourne with teammates Malcolm Michael and Brad Oborne, had suddenly disappeared and returned to the country.

The Magpies released a statement this morning saying Tarrant had met with Malthouse and the talented youngster - who has a two-year $400,000 contract with Collingwood - had expressed a desire to resume his career straight away.
