Jolly & Cloke are the gimme's.
My mind automatically moves to the key position defensive players for the finals but when you think about it, we have some options there in Reid, Brown & Tarrant.

Despite plenty of midfielders, Pendles may well be one of our keys. He is the best at selecting the correct option, executing & bringing others in to the game.

Cloke, Pendles and Reid.

Pendles and Reid need to re-discover their dominant form of the last couple of years for us to be any chance, Clokey needs no explanation.

Cloke, Thomas and Krak/Didak.

Cloke for obvious reasons.

Thomas because if he reproduces the form of last finals series, we'll beat anyone, any ground, anytime.

If either or both of Krak/Didak gets 25 possies in a game, we'll win that game.

I don't really see particular players in our defence or mids as being as important - they are cohesive units and seem to manage to cover for each other pretty well. Daisy's line-breaking awesomeness notwithstanding

Pretty much why I chose those 3. Totally agree

The 3 most important players for this finals series are Darren Jolly, Travis Cloke and Ben Reid.

Darren Jolly - He is our number 1 ruckman and our only real established ruckman at the club. If he struggles or gets injured, the task of winning a flag will just become so much harder. It is vital that he plays well and stays fit and healthy.

Travis Cloke - He is our number 1 forward option. He is crucial for us when it comes to goals. When he plays well, Collingwood tends to win more often than not. A fit and firing Cloke will cause opposition defences problems. Hopefully he fires when it matters.

Ben Reid - He's one of our best defenders when on form and he proved to be crucial in 2010 when we won the flag, but when he struggled against Tom Hawkins last year in the Grand Final due to injury, it meant that Collingwood were at a greater disadvantage of winning the premiership. He's a very capable player, but needs to be consistent throughout the finals if we are any chance of winning.
