As coach, I bear a massive responsibility, and I am prepared to stand by my statements. All of them. (Apart from the ones I'm not prepared to stand by, of course.)

^ Too right we are not going to finish eighth. In fact, on last week's form, the only reason we are not looking at finishing 19th is that there are only 18 sides in the comp.
When disaster strikes, the first rule is don't panic! (On the other hand, with form like this, what else is there to do?) We are going to back our mighty team of Nicksters to turn it around this week. We have resisted the temptation to make wholesale changes and we are simply going to appeal to you all, as senior players and leaders of this mighty club, to show the world that last week was an isolated aberation and that Nicks Collingwood Posting XXII can kick arse with the best of them. Or at least get some. Possibly at three AM up the Cross with the aid of cheap whiskey and $50 borrowed from a teammate, but arse nevertheless. Look at it this way, it's play better or see the coach get the ar..... er ... look, just play better.
Or at least don't play worse.
If there is any worse.

Despite last week's disgrace, you are all getting another chance. The only changes this week are those forced by illness or injury. With Stui out we are going to need a big effort from September Zeros in the ruck, who will change with Breadcrawl off the bench.

I'll keep leading with my head in and under the packs. I might come out bloodied and bruised, but if I didn't like it, I wouldn't play that way.

sigh. i am not sure i can preside over this amateur hour. i know it's the start of the melbourne international comedy festival but did someone not tell the coach he is not actually a part of it?! i think this also needs to extend to the playing 21.5.
is the maltese king out when he's in or in when he's out?
