Quote: | Neil Balme believes that the deal involving Travis Varcoe to Collingwood, Heritier Lumumba to Melbourne and Mitch Clark to Geelong is "pretty much done" live on Trade Radio. |
Just have to wait for Confirmation from the Clubs

Jesus. Really didn't want this deal to go through but I suppose I have to give him a chance since he's wearing the black and white now. In other news, Jarryd Blair is no longer no.1 on everyone's shit list. |

If we can get Greenwood AND Varcoe for Lumumba and pick 48, I reckon that is a win.
Varcoe should only get a one year deal, but he'll probably end up getting two or three. |

Jesus, all we need is a fringe softcok NQR outside runner from each of Freo and Port and we'll have the full suite...
Sydney - Armstrong (still hope for White)
Hawthorn - Young
Geelong - Varcoe
Port - ??
Freo - ??
Not to mention
Melbourne - S Buckley
Carlton - Russell |

Yep ... the law of averages suggest at least one will rise to the top ... don't they? Please. Won't just one work out for us? Pretty. Please. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Well, I didn't want to draft him, but if he's coming to us then we should all reserve judgement and welcome him and wish him all the best. Seems he's about to become one of us. |

I'll be keeping an open mind about it at least.
Premiership player, averages a goal or better a game, is quick and skilled. He's an impact player who is good for a goal or piece of brilliance but drifts in and out of games but he will fill a role as Sidebottom aside we struggle to find players to manufacture an unlikely goal.
My concern is he has injury issues but I'd much prefer him to Mitch bloody Clark for one. People were excited about getting him when he is a) from two shit clubs, b) injury riddled and c) not that good anyway.
Varcoe isn't the answer to our prayers but he has kicked 30+ a couple of times (albeit in a much better side than we are) and is a v/good shot on goal which are in scant supply at Collingwood. |

correct, regardless of our view and Im 60-40 thinking its not the best deal - once he pulls on our jumper he deserves 100% support as a pies player.
I know Lynch didnt work out that well, but by all reports he had a massive contribution to the club off the field - we dont hand out the Millane award lightly. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Good to see he uses his elite foot skills regularly. Seriously, less than 7 kicks per game?
