I think we do need to see what Karnezis can offer at AFL level for a full game.
Not sure if he can develop much further continuing in the VFL for another year.
Oxley might need a breather, Gault the other obvious out. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

This. The only player in the VFL who looked ready for immediate senior duties was Young and he needs to get several weeks running in, yet.
I was very disappointed with what I saw. In any event, what is required most urgently is a genuine KPF and we do not appear to possess any alternatives. |

From the game today, I thought PK put in a solid performance, but I'm not sure it was good enough to get a call up. He played off the HBF, often didn't seem especially accountable, and some of his possessions were cheap without being especially effective. I suspect that I'm confirmed in my opinion of him as a good VFL player, but I'd love him to show me up. One thing I'll say, he's not lazy, and his touch was noticeably better than many of those around him.
It was JDG who demanded attention today. There was nothing cheap about his possessions: he was a bull, and he used the ball well for most of the day. He was benched for much of the last quarter, so I suspect he might have impressed some people who matter a bit more than me.
I liked Marsh. He's still a way off, and he's also a bit wayward in his disposal, but he's got a spark about him that I like very much. Like some others, I'd also like to see him played somewhere other than defence, but maybe it's the best place for him to be as he gets his body right.
So for mine, JDG is in...someone is out. Oxley was subbed, but I hope he doesn't lose a spot because of one bad week. We will have to rotate/rest many of our younger players throughout the year, so perhaps JDG's call up could come on that basis (i.e. a player being 'rested' instead of dropped).
For what it's worth, Fas will have a hard time coming back. He seemed to spend a lot of time in the midfield today, but he just doesn't thrive there. It might have been better to trade for him last year. _________________ Go Pies. |

Broomhead had a poor game (only 2 possies in second half) but was excellent the week before and that's what you get with young players.

How 'bout drop no one? The team's going well and no one below is demanding selection. No change makes sense. Maybe we give De Goey a run but I don't think there's anyone who deserves to be dropped. _________________ Well done boys! |

Don't think anyone made an overly compelling case in the VFL today from what I saw. Although I reckon a few in the AFL side will be sweating. Namely Gault and White. It'll come down to getting the right match ups I reckon and it could be a 'no change' assuming no injuries. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Jesse white still does not do enough, I think Karnezis in for him is now imperative, he would have to offer more, now that Moore is outa contention. also reckon degoey is worth a game against the scum. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Well at this stage it's meant to be fine on Friday so no excuses for Gault and White to not clunk some marks and kick a few if it comes to pass. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

On Patrick Karnezis, genuine question, why is everyone on here prepared to give him so much time?
He's 23 years old, not super tall and to date has done little more than be a Collingwood supporter. On that basis, shouldn't we give Straughnie a game?! Ok, that's a bit harsh....
But seriously, I don't understand why we pin any hope on this guy, let's move on....? No? _________________ Go Pies!! |
