Sharrod has talent but let's be honest, he was at best a second stringer at Collingwood who is only now starting to produce anything for the Eagles for the simple fact hed've been out on his arse if he didn't deliver this year.
I think we've amply covered his loss and more than been compensated with Grundy.
There's no point crying over spilt milk and to the person bemoaning Thomas's predicament at Carlton I say stiff shit. Thomas could've signed a monster contract extension in 2011 but decided to hold out and test the free agency waters only for him to suffer injuries and a drop in form thus suffering a drop in market value and worth to Collingwood. Thomas threw the dice and has crapped out (as has Carlton and MM) spectacularly but he still has 700,000 reasons to keep spudding it up. |

Wellingham is a dud.
Our phenomenal midfield made him look good. We won that trade by a mile
And in 2-3 yrs time the trade will look even better. |

I'm not suggesting that he is a better footballer than the ones we kept but he certainly had that speed that the others lack.
His 75 metre goal against the Kangaroos today was OK, too.
Still, sliding doors - we need a ruckman more, as thompsoc said. |
Though I always thought he could be better then what he was _________________ I am Da Man |

Ah well <snip - please don't. Thanks, BBMods.> No great loss, and as mentioned, his replacement is in another ballpark talent-wise. |

Exactly, always had the ability, lacked the consistency and drive. |

Sharrod has been dropped on 5 occasions with the Eagles and has finally put together a 3-4 good match stretch. Think the Pies have won here!
ps:
Beams is the best midfielder and player whose left our club draft deal aside. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

He looked like a Brownlow medalist this weekend 4 years ago, maybe he just really likes to honor our Sovereign's birthday with a good game! _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

Gotta admit Beams looked a class above in yesterday's game, he just does not have any support.

He wouldn't go so well in the ruck. I prefer Grundy. |

Sharrod has all the talent in the world but is not capable of displaying it consistency week in week out when it's demanded of them. I never felt that we saw the best of him - only flashes here and there. I do remember a game against the dees where he dominated the midfield.
He's hot and cold and wasn't he sent back for disciplinary reasons because he was up to no good. TBH I found him a little too lazy and easy going. I mean good luck to him now, I think we made the right call but we'd be complaining about him here now if he was still playing with us.
Wellers is only playing well now because his career is on the line. He's had his injuries I know but it's do or die for him this year.
Besides we got Grundy. Shouldn't we be grateful for that... |
