Carlton, the place where Collingwood people go to retire.
A wise decision by Fas and to me it's a win win win. Both clubs and Fas will all be winners out of this. |

Carlton got a steal for him.
If he stays fit he will kick bags of goals for Carlton.
He constantly kicked the ball 60+ |

Yes exactly! It’s s lot less painful! The majority like or love him, but we can all see we need cap relief and that he’s competing with too many other similar forwards with an unfortunate injury history. I always loved Faz, but this new Collingwood is a team of full effort players, not 10 min highlights grabbers. And this comments comes as I agree re his defensive efforts. In the days of Didak, forwards were not expected to be hard defenders, now everyone is a defender too. And that’s always been my mantra! When the opposition has the ball who is a defender? All. 6 Goals against the Tugs was my favourite memory of him in the last second Grundy goal game.
Always forget that he played in the 2011 GF as the sub.
Always felt he had a Centre Half Forwards game in a half backs body. Good luck Fas hope you don't win another game though. |

I watched Alex at a few pre-season training sessions this year. he was rehabing so not with the main group. He was more or less training by himself. A couple of other players spent around 10 min with him while he was doing different run throughs.
He was on the track before every other player.
He did not stop running for nearly 2 hours
He left the track after every other player.
He was popular and very much the team player. His body cost him games and then I think just some of the aspects of his game did not suit how we were playing. Esp with Degoey and Stephanson up and about.
Ultimately, if he could get 22 games with us Id have thought he'd stay. To get him out of the club Carlton have to pay overs in $ and length of contract and given his uncertain future with us you can begrudge him the opportunity.
Very different to Daisy.
Bit different to Dayne, at the time I thought had a lot more to do with $ than he let on. The fact it sounds like he now wants to come back if thats the case I will stick my hand up and say I got it wrong. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

I would suggest he wasn't going to be offered a contract this year, or at least last on the list as a reserve player only.. |

I don't see the value in this for Carlton. He won't improve their team.
Fas can't play in defence. He can't play in the midfield. That leaves only the forward line. Even if he kicks goals he exacerbates a major problem as defensive forward pressure there is a massive issue for them. He just doesn't fit in with their personnel. |

Big fan of the Fas but with Stevo, WHE and de Goey + Elliot to return (hopefully) next year, his writing was on the wall.
Best of luck at the Blues...play shite against us! |

He replaces Matthew Wright in their forward pocket, who recently retired and returned to Adelaide to coach. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
