The 30 days may have been for the haircut.

As for the wall:

“We’re going to be doing things militarily,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “Until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military. That’s a big step. We really haven’t done that before, or certainly not very much before.”

We all remember Trumps "Drain the Swamp". It's obviously been drained of people he doesn't like and filled with people he does like. Same same but different.

For someone who lives in Thailand in sin city we would see that as a short time room. Or a love nest. But people in Washington glass houses do not throw stones.

Is anyone else finding this “Trump/Russia” soap opera pretty yawn-worthy? Just a junk reality TV show for rusted-on Democrats and the vanilla American media. Meanwhile, a highly destructive, economically insane tax bill gets passed and pretty much nobody cares – because apparently Sean Hannity was once a client of Trump’s lawyer, and this is something we’re supposed to care about. Cue a dozen identikit New York Times op eds...

Meanwhile, the Democrats are suing everybody they can think of because the American public found out how dodgy they are behind closed doors, and apparently that is a profound threat to democracy.

And why should he?......

A Nobel Prize nomination for Trump? One more nonsensical reason for the media to attack him

Does Trump deserve Nobel Prize for efforts with North Korea?
This past week, 18 Republican members of Congress nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to “end the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula, and bring peace to the region.” You’d think the media would applaud this potential honor – right?

Strangely enough, no.

The left-wing New York Daily News headlined its article: “Republican stooges push for Trump to win Nobel Prize as critics bash the idea.”

Lefty Splinter News ran its own tastefully understated anti-Trump headline: “Some Dumb--- Congressmen Nominated Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize.”

CNN ran a piece in a similar vein: “Trump’s possible Nobel Prize nomination mocked.” It began with National Correspondent Jeanne Moos sarcastically asking, “Trump, Nobel laureate?” She then cut to comedian Dana Carvey humorously impersonating Trump during his acceptance speech: “I love prizes, I love Cracker Jacks.”

Moos followed with anti-Trump comedian Seth Meyers commenting that Trump supporters chanting “Nobel,” was “like going to a monster truck rally and chanting Pulitzer.”

CNN clearly was not pleased.

Neither was Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank, doing his impression of the better Dana – Carvey. Milbank wrote up his version of the Trump acceptance speech, but delivered it via column, without the same voice or wit. “I love Norwegians!” he wrote. “I want more immigrants from Norway and others who have the same merit-based complexion that Norwegians have.”

Everyone wanted a piece of the joke. Conan O'Brien told his TV audience: “A group of House Republicans has nominated president Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize. Yeah. As evidence they pointed out that Trump has managed to avoid an all-out war with North Korea and Melania.”

Of course, all of this quasi-news and comedy downplays a very real fact – President Trump accomplished something important.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in was among those who supported the idea of the peace prize for President Trump, saying: “It’s really President Trump who should receive it; we can just take peace,” The New York Times reported.

If Obama can be awarded one for doing nothing and later dropping 26,171 bombs then I guess anyone else is eligible to win the award including Trump.

Yeah right – as if Republicans were cheering Obama’s Nobel Prize back in the day! But that’s just polarised politics for you. Why would this be any different?

Of course, there were many on the left who (rightly) criticised Obama’s peace prize, too, as premature at best and deeply inappropriate at worst. Others (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/oct/01/the-nobel-peace-prize-is-a-whos-who-of-hawks-hawks-hypocrites-and-war-criminals) have pointed out that the prize has so often been given to terrible candidates that it’s not even an honour that we should hold in any esteem in the first place.

But even taking that into account, the idea of suggesting that it be given to Trump is pretty funny. And I say that as someone who’s willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on his North Korea approach at the moment. Assuming that a peace prize means anything at all, perhaps it would be sensible to wait until something substantial in the Koreas has clearly been achieved, or until he hasn’t totally undermined any and all good work with his approach to the Iran nuclear deal. Maybe, just maybe, the Nobel committee should wait until politicians has finished serving their terms before handing out such prizes – if for no other reason than to prevent the committee from getting serious egg on their faces later.

The media don't even want to talk about peace in Korea, they want to talk about some porn star that Trump banged consensually 16 years ago.

Traditional media journalism is dying; they care nothing about reporting and only about agenda pushing.

Not sure that it was ever any better, but the internet's done a great job exposing the fake news peddlers for what they are, peddlers of fake news.

The Trump hate-mania is a joke. If the man were that incompetent you'd want to take a step back, shut up and let him dig his own grave. Alas, no, it must be histrionics and vitriol - the left knows no other way.

^ Is it, though? The Korean situation has been on the front page of major newspapers throughout the past few months. Most of the newspapers and online providers I read, such as The Atlantic, The Guardian, ABC, BBC and The New York Times, all provide good-to-excellent international coverage, certainly streets ahead of any commercial TV channels or mainstream tabloids. Where I’ll agree is that the American media – and even its quality outlets like the Times and Washington Post and the formerly excellent Guardian, which they have colonised and ruined – have seemingly gone troppo about Trump, and do devote an alarming portion of their coverage to what seem to me to be trivialities. I don’t much read them any more as a result (though I still prefer them by miles to pitiful pro-Trump cheersquads like Fox and the fact-challenged alt-right “alternative” media). Still, I think we need to be careful when we make sweeping statements about “the media”, as individual outlets vary greatly in terms of quality, political outlook and focus.

The Korean situation is a splendid example of a stopped clock which happens to be showing the right time at this moment. Whatever Trump accidentally did, it's looking promising.
