What a farking joke.. an insult to many great Collingwood people who've given more to society than that goose inadvertently did!

I was at that game too! He belted Peter Moore at a boundary throw in right in front of us.

If that was in '79 it must have been the day Daicos debuted as well - the 178 point win.

He got weeks for hitting Moore and Terry Wight. I'm not sure why those two incidents were singled out from an all-round rollicking good game by the St Kilda big man.

Thanks for that. It certainly brought back some memories. That was one of the most enjoyable games I have ever been to. We were also very surprised when Daicos turned up a couple of weeks later to play against us in schoolboy football.

It goes up at VP. It's hardly seen. It's probably vandalised.

It goes up at Moorabbin. It's seen by the Saints fans and is well looked after.

It goes up at the MCG. Everyone sees it, but were does it go? Next to Lethal? Next to Warnie? Somewhere facing the glasshouse? That'd be something.

It goes up in WA. His home state sees it. It's well looked after.

A problem for me, is that some just see it as an anti-Collingwood thing. When it's an anti-racism thing. I just dont want this to be another Collingwood hate campaign, taking away from the real issue.

Just realised Nicky's middle name is Elvis. Now thats cool!

Did they make him tie his bootlaces together and put his legs in a sack? Laughing

Winmar played 4 times at Victoria Park for 1 win and 4 losses.

He did enjoy some magical moments, though - like getting to watch Michael McGuane have 35 kicks and 11 handballs against his hopeless rabble one day and Daics have 37 disposals - mostly to Brian Taylor who kicked 9.6 - against them another day.

His one win came on a day when Collingwood played after a 4-day break Following the Anzac Day game. Famously, he wasn't even the best indigenous player on the park that day - that was, of course, Gilbert McAdam, who kicked 5.2 and got the 3 votes.

With 59% of the vote going to "Yes, but not at Vic Park", and with the man himself suggesting he'd prefer it at another venue, I think it'd be best located at a different venue.

Wether in his home state, at Moorrabin, or someone near the MCG. All venues that will see the statue gain more respect and a chance to actually be seen.

Anyway, if the statue goes up, I'd like us to be a small part of it. In a positive way please.
