Anyone got any idea what we're actually doing, status quo? rebuilding? what?!?

Just we're very quiet and apart from a couple of very minor changes in the coaching grp... what is there?

My veiw is that it's a multi tiered situation after the reveiw process!!

The decision making is based on board consultation to reach a good outcome

Rebuild/ almost no trade participation centres around our picks and some 2017 list decisions--the Copeland showed that almost all awards went to
25yrs and under players and this may have them thinking rebuild is close
to complete

Sure they will be vigilant in delisted trade and draft

We'll trade for Sam Murray from Sydney, but that's it. The club will adopt a more conservative approach this year and head to the draft and hopefully unearth some gems, including whoever we select at pick 6.

Based on a gut feeling, I think we're going to target Tom Lynch with everything we've got next year as a free agent.

Young Murray--yes I reckon he will be it --we have a new recruiting structure
and if it's to be a path to our future thorough research must be their agenda

Draft I hope gets us a good talent hopefully with X factor to go with his talent

I'm liking what they're doing - I think it shows selection has a considered approach and is holding their nerve by not jumping at high profile players at high profile prices. The fact they are looking at a Sydney rookie off the radar shows they are targeting.

What do people think: is Tom Lynch really worth betting the house on?

I tend to agree with our approach, I think there's a lot of growth within our current list be it a few players coming back from major injuries in 2017 and will be better for it (Elliot, Langdo, Reid) or the younger players maturing (Moore, de goey, Maynard, daicos, brown) and natural development of players (Cox, Hoskin Elliot).

I think we are now on the right track.

Everyone's carrying on that it's only Collingwood. Have a look around, we are not alone and most of the crap is coming from the media who is speculating to push for something to happen. You don't do a deal for the sake of doing a deal. Some are saying we must be screwed over with the TPP. How the *uck would you know? Assumptions and Speculation are flowing truly and I just sit back and shake my head. Nothing is coming out of the club and that is as it should be. We don't need to know until it's been done. You don't go to a house auction and bid first, you set your budget and sit back and wait or else you get screwed over.

The positive from all this is that none of our players this year are jumping ship; sulking because they are homesick; or thinking they are worth more than they actually are and shopping themselves around. *looks at: D Beams, D Thomas, C Dawes, S Wellingham, T Cloke, H Lumumba*

How can you make that statement. I agree 100% with what Culprit wrote above. Both the media and us do not know the inner workings of the club, our recruiting strategy, our position in respect to the TPP etc. Like the media we simply do not have the facts to form an educated opinion. Also, TPP has been increased this year so that in itself would make room. Also some of the contracts handed out last year may have been heavily weight for the larger proportion to be paid in the first year of the contract as we potentially had a significant amount of the TPP available in TPP and we needed to use it up.

For all we know we may have agreements in place with some of the free agents that will come available in 12 months. The fact is that we do not have access to the facts.

I actually like the stability in our list. The group is now a solid group; a clique if you like. Not many departing, only those through the necessity of the draft rules. And only one addition thus far - speedy legs in the backline - can't be a bad thing.

So what if Murray is a Swans rookie? He obviously has some talent to get on the list in the first place. The last time I checked the Swans have a pretty solid backline anyways.

I can see the logic in getting the extra pick - thus to use it on potential father and sons. I feel we will be very active in next years trade period. The speculation will be on Lynch throughout the whole year.

My only concern is that if the Gold Coast was prepared to give up pick 2 for Lachie Weller then it's going to take us 2 first round picks, 2 future first rounders and a dowry (maybe a pig) to get Lynch thru the door.
