Smith has moved to 941 ranking points, the equal fifth-highest of all time alongside Peter May, with only Sir Donald Bradman (961), Len Hutton (945), Jack Hobbs (942), Ricky Ponting (942) having achieved higher.
The Australia captain sits 53 points clear of second placed Cheteshwar Pujara, while England skipper Joe Root, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and India superstar Virat Kohli round out the top five, with just 11 points separating those ranked 2-4. _________________ Donny.

After his 239, Smith goes above Ponting and Hobbs (both 942) and equal with Hutton (945).
Naturally enough, Bradman is way out in front, with 961. _________________ Donny.

Smith will go down as one of the all time great batsman of this country.
Amazing to think he started his career off as a leg spinner rather than batsman. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

My comments on the batting ratings (in the Steve Smith thread) of course apply equally to the bowling ratings. |
