Adam Oxley
Jack Madgen (B)

If we're talking replacement by position, then it's Oxley/Mihocek. Mihocek has played both JLT games. Im not sure about Oxley.
If we're just upgrading the best player, then it's going to have to be JT who was very good in his JTL hitout.

All Category A rookies are available for selection without being upgraded. (New rule this year)
That means all our rookies are available round 1 except for Jack Madgen who is a Cat. B rookie.

Goldsack to undergo reconstruction
Stephen Rielly March 12, 2018 2:30 PM
Collingwood premiership player Tyson Goldsack will require a left knee reconstruction after suffering a tear of his anterior cruciate ligament in last Saturday’s JLT match against the Western Bulldogs in Moe.
Goldsack, 30, was hurt in the final minutes of the encounter, Collingwood’s last before its round one match against Hawthorn at the MCG on 24 March.
The 161 game veteran, who produced career best form in 2017, had scans on Sunday which were followed by a discussion with orthopaedic surgeon Julian Feller earlier today.
He will meet with Feller next week to proceed with the surgery.
“It’s a tough blow for Tyson, who is a senior player in our group and an important one,” Collingwood's General Manager of Football, Geoff Walsh, said.
“The news came as bit of a shock to everyone, Tyson most of all. He jogged from the field thinking he had hyper-extended the knee.
“For him and us, it’s a bitter reminder of how tough our game can be.”

Well appears that’s it —surgery then rehab for Goldy😡😡
From this disappointing situation maybe it spurns a new long term player
from our young men
Goldy hope you get another chance to go around next year

Surely that has to be the line of logic, if he intended to retire at seasons end anyway?

frigging shame, Goldy has always give everything on the field, speed, ferocity and tenacity. hard as a cats head, but always fair, tough as a $2 steak but no strut.
One of my favourites.

I hope they play his last quarter heroics against freo last year to the boys before a few games this year. One of the highlights of the season for me last year.

That’s a great call. Surely that would get his team mates up and about for a big effort.

Bugar! F&*k!! I hate to hear of any footballer suffering a serious injury, worse still when it's Collingwood player and worst of all, when it's someone like Goldy - has always played his courageous heart out for the team. The football gods are so bloody unkind sometimes.
Agree with didick above - that game was inspirational and so typical of his utter determination. What an example he sets to younger players about how to attack the game.
Ahh well, he'll get to spend more time with his daughter and maybe go to Russia with Swanny later in the year!! Has to be an upside somewhere.
