After the operation he will be in rehab and around the Holden Centre
What about him giving Nick Maxwell a chop out in Culture

(Never know, Goldy might be back for our GF this year)
'I'm keen to play on': Tyson's tough blow
Callum Twomey with AAP
Mar 12, 2018 8:44PM
SHATTERED Collingwood veteran Tyson Goldsack remains hopeful he hasn't played his last game after suffering a serious knee injury.
The 30-year-old will undergo a knee reconstruction after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament during Saturday's pre-season win over the Western Bulldogs in Moe.
Goldsack is out of contract at the end of the season having only been offered a one-year deal for 2018 late last year.
The recovery time for the surgery is generally 10 to 12 months, but the popular swingman is hopeful of a miraculous return this season or a new contract for next year.
"It's fair to say that I hope I haven't played my last game," Goldsack told reporters.
"I'm definitely keen to play again whether that's late this year or if it has to be next year then we'll go down that path after surgery.
"But I'm definitely keen to play on."
Goldsack didn't require any surgery at the end of last season and had enjoyed a strong preparation before he suffered the injury in the dying minutes of the clash.
He was initially unconcerned and was confident he would play in round one before precautionary scans confirmed the extent of the damage on Monday.
"It's a tough blow for Tyson, who is a senior player in our group and an important one," said Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh on Monday afternoon.
"The news came as bit of a shock to everyone, Tyson most of all. He jogged from the field thinking he had hyper-extended the knee.
"For him and us, its a bitter reminder of how tough our game can be."
Goldsack has played 161 games for the Magpies since making his debut in 2007, including the club's 2010 premiership triumph, when he was brought into the side for the Grand Final replay following the previous week's draw.

Lars ok if your sitting around in an office job but doesnt strengthen knee enough in a demanding sport like AFL
The traditional op is way better and stronger knee than original. _________________ Go Pies...Premiers 2010 |

Bad luck Goldy. Look forward to you rejoining the team as soon as possible. You will be sorely missed - (pun intended) as we need your toughness and experience. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

How hard is the Sack though?
Does an ACL and then jogs from the track thinking he's just bent his knee a bit wrong.
Get well soon, Goldy |

Tough as nails. Love the way he leaves no stone unturned on the field.
Wish him well in his recovery. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Watched a Collingwood media video of Goldy and he was stoked
Said he had tweets and message from lots of people in footy (not just Pies)
Said after operation and as he goes thru rehab he wants a job helping out
Good on ya mate _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I'll stick my neck out and predict that Goldsack will be back pushing for selection in August. I think he's the type that will do everything possible in his rehab. And of course, he's been injured so many times that he knows exactly how to go about recovery.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Krakouer did his ACL in preseason (2012?) and came back around August, and Nathan Brown nearly did the same before he re-injured his knee slipping on a mountain hike.
So, fingers crossed, Goldie's back for finals |

5 months?
Not a snowflakes chance in hell unfortunately.
The best we can hope for is to see the Sack back in 2019. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
