Bloody hell! So he must have done his calf walking to car after the game if that’s the case.

PS If it ain’t on Twitter it must not have happened.

Have no idea the veracity of the brief mention. Only know what I heard.

My comment was both tongue in cheek and wishful thinking.

Cox confident of spearheading makeshift Pies attack
by Anthony Colangelo, 23 March 2018

Mason Cox has declared he is confident, ready and capable of leading the undermanned Collingwood forward line into the 2018 season and beyond...

We could use a big body and accurate kick up forward ... is that Stewart father son we passed on still available?

Is that James Stewart who is doing well tonight for the Bombers

If it is he’s pretty good

.

No probs. According to the very scant post game video report by dev. coach Mathew Boyd the Pies' VFL team "lost a few through injury and cramp". No further detail.

EDIT: And there was this post game report on Wells:

Returning from lingering Achilles soreness, Wells played his first competitive minutes of the pre-season at the Holden Centre against Box Hill.

Rotating between midfield and forward with coach Nathan Buckley watching on, he booted a goal in the first term before he was put on ice after half-time.

"We wanted to grade his comeback into competitive footy, (and) planned to play a half," Collingwood's General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh told AFL Media.

"He looked OK early, he just needs to get some more conditioning under his belt.

Most of the rain is expected during the morning and afternoon in Melbourne.

I see James Stewart having a big breakout year in 2018.

We will regret not picking him.

Absolutely. It was incredible that we did not select him. He was everything that we would have wanted. Instead we were hell bent on recruiting midfielders...multiple copies of the same type. Cannot even begin to express my exasperation at this decision.

Just heard the latest AFL news on Channel 7.
They reported that Wells was pushing for selection for Round 2, after playing the first half of the VFL game, and then taken off the field to be "put on ice" (not because of an injury, but to ensure that he would be ready for next round!!).
Also, Fas kicked two goals in the VFL, and was likewise reported to be "pushing for selection" in Round 2.
Hope this is not "fake news"/
