Want to know who our best recruit for the 2018 season is? It's Matthew Boyd. So lucky to have him as our VFL coach today. |

Cheers. My fingers and a iPhone 6 make it a tad difficult!! Shoulda kidnapped a 5 year old to do the texting Will get the larger 8 at some point in time. Tributes to Magpie bat who watches the game, uses his laptop and communicates clearly. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Well I headed down to watch the VFL Team Play.
We played 2 Great Qtrs and 2 Poor Qtrs.
My Thoughts on Players:
Impressed with Tyler Brown Impressed me with Ball in Hand. Very Classy BUT not much a Outside Player and needs other to get him the Ball. Bit Timid like Schaz
Schaz did not have a Great Game. Did not get a Ton and Turned it over a Bit
Lynch was good around the Ground taking a Few Strong Contested Marks
Wells played 1 Half and Easily a Class or 2 Above
Sier got some Touches and Like how he took the Game on a Bit
Fas Did okay Nothing Special
Miocheck barley noticed him
Daicos only think Lasted a Qtr
Mclarty and De Goey did not Play _________________ I am Da Man |

Thanks for the commentary, WPT.
I heard rumours that Wells aggravated his calf injury. Is this true? _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Hopefully all is well with Wellsy and he'll back be playing in the senior side soon. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

My tip Dave is that if Buckley decides to walk we should appoint him now as senior coach to take over the club. Although it was just a practice game you could tell at the quarter time huddles that this guy is all calmness and authority. Everything is kept simple. Instead of numbers written up on the white boards it's ticks or crosses. The message after the first quarter was to protect the nest. When things went pear shaped in the second and third quarters, the message was simple again. You need to get the feel back. By most measures Box Hill should have beaten us. They were bigger, stronger and more skilled than us, yet we beat them. You can credit Boyd for the win, which is about getting into the headspace of the players, so you draw out the best of the player skills. I know it's early days but Boyd is one assistant coach we'd be crazy to let go, like we allowed Beveridge to walk to Hawthorn and then coach the Bulldogs to a flag. |
