My mail is that Derek Hine recently stated that Cox was our most important recruit over the past 10 years. Phuck me! |

I’m not at all sure he’s wrong. It was wet today and the ball was apparently slippery. It was a terrible night for his strengths, and he lost confidence. It is recoverable. But he was a bad selection under the conditions, unless it was to play pure ruck. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

I've had the feeling for a long time Hiney likes to challenge himself to pluck players from obscurity that manage a season or two of AFL. He hadn't been as good lately at the percentage picks that give us star quality. Anyone else felt this way? _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

For the first and only time ever, I'm hoping the tribunal suspends a Pies player. |

Having spoken to him at our end of season members' forums, I think he's clueless when it comes to identifying genuine talent.
Sure, he picked the obvious Dale Thomas and Steele Sidebottom, and got lucky with the speculative pick in Pendlebury, but outside of that (I dunno, a few decent seasons out of Reid, Beams and now Elliott) he's bypassed MANY stars of the current completion. _________________ Est. 2002 |

That’s an interesting point James Stewart cos looking at Bombers forwards on Friday night they controlled their area with strong marking—Stewart and Daneheir
Went tall but they presented themselves, wanted the ball and were given it in best way for their strength,s _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I understand placing faith in Cox, but he will be hit and miss, which I think every supporter knows. The issue is what happens when he misses? We don't appear to have plan B, and with Moore down back, even more so. I think it's time to try Howe in attack. He's done it successfully before at Melbourne and that's why we recruited him. Making Cox the main man at this stage could well destroy him. |

I think a few on here who are missing the point about Cox. He’s not just in the team as a one dimensional KPF. He’s in the team as a versatile tall who can tuck and impact the scoreboard.
He’s still a good player to have on our list. Who else replaces Grundy in the ruck if he is injured or suspended ?
Yes, he was poor and as was pointed out it’s a Winter sport but there aren’t many KPFs who don’t struggle in the wet. I don’t think Roughead was anything special in those conditions either.
Cox position in the team reminds me of M Marsh position in the Aussie cricket team. They can both contribute in two different ways but they just don’t do either well enough ..... yet.
And FWIW, everyone’s saying he’s no good in the wet but don’t be surprised if he also has trouble judging the flight of the ball at night under lights. He wouldn’t be the first to do so. |

Positive - Cox was able to continually get in to a position, in space, to be a target.
Negative - he'd be lucky to hold on to successfully hold on to his wang in the toilet.
Keep the former, improve the latter and he'll be ok.
The frustration is that when our mids finally hit a target, the target dropped it.
I'm putting it down to the shock of it all. |

I had him in my outs but now I've calmed down I think Cox will play next week and it's probably the right call despite the absolute shocker he had.
No point planning a forward structure around him for an entire summer to only throw it out after one game.
Surely his marking can't be that bad again and to drop him now would only crush his confidence further.
Let's give him another chance and this time make sure we have plenty of players at his feet. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
