Was awarded the Rose-Sutton Medal. |
... and by whoever awarded the Sutton-Rose Medal.
My point was that the Coach didn’t seem to rate his game that highly, if his remarks were authentic. I suppose if Phillips gets 10 after that, we’ll know never to believe anything the Coach says, ever again.
I can’t see who judged the Medal this year but in 2016, eg, it was judged by Nick Maxwell, Cameron Ling and Emma Quayle. |

Think he was referring to the centre square players. Phillips as a wingman was not in the conversation. |

Yes, he wasn’t in the conversation. We’ll see if he actually is on Monday or Tuesday, I suppose. |

Fyfe notched most AF points - for both teams - against NM.
D.Martin unlikely to draw votes. S. Martin was best for Brisbane, in a losing side.
Mitchell was best for the Hawks. _________________ Donny.

Fyffe 3, D Martin 2, S Martin 3 (Beams 10, Robinson 4 and Gardiner 3, all for the Lions), Mitchell just behind Gaff, Yeo, Sheppard, Smith, Hardwick, Redden, Impey and Stratton with 0. |

So one coach thought Trelaor was BOG ground the other couldn't find a vote for him ?
Can anyone forgive out how the votes work other that ? |

Interesting that Treloar got 5 from 1 coach and none from the other.
Grundy, Pendles and Phillips all got 7, so one of them got 5/2 whilst the other 2 got 4/3. |

And fast forward 5 more weeks and he's got 2 votes total added to his total and is now 18 points adrift of the leader and about to be over taken by Grundy as our top ranked player |

I think the coaches make these votes up, sometimes. Maybe Bevo liked one or two of them but not others when he was at the 'Pies?
Although, I should add that I considered all of the Collingwood players listed for votes, along with Langdon, Sidebottom and WHE, so it's not like these votes were completely ridiculous, like they were a couple of times last year, from memory. |

It will be a good effort if he can achieve that. Since 2010, the 5ths in the B&F have been Luke Ball, Leon Davis, Maxy, H, Caff, Sidey, Howe and Grundy.
Last year, the coaches' award was a reasonable guide to the placegetters for the Copeland. The top 5 were Adams, Pendles, Treloar, Sidey and Howe. They got the order completely wrong, of course, but the only one of the Copeland top 5 they missed was Grundy (in at the expense of Pendlebury, who finished 6th). |
