Reported as a ‘serious’ ankle injury. Just fantastic. Pre season injuries AGAIN.

People had to mention how good our injury list was then De Goey goes down. Injury or suspension he always has an interrupted preseason, imagine if he got a full preseason under his belt?

Not sure one can tell from the video, which doesn't show the incident. Which leg was his pre-existing injury to?

He, like Beams, has already had a quite interrupted pre-season.

Cleared of anything too serious - Geoff Walsh FWIW
Moonboot for a week and then see what they've got to deal with.

Nice to see Beams involved in Match Sim after a week off last week with illness of some nature

Hi hopes he will be right for round 1 or 2,
Just spotted Lin Jong tore a hammy - I was rather excited we might get him but it looks like we dodged a bullet as he seems to be prone to injury - or at least prone to bad luck

Yeah, wish they'd get someone else to do the injuries bit,
I just can't believe a word out of Walshies mouth.
Right now I have NO clue who will be available for Rd.1. I have a list of about 12 guys who've missed training, been carried off, had toes stepped on (Gonna be our secret weapon Roughie, any player getting on top of us, we send Roughie in for a quick two-step).

Given that Jordy is OK, a week in a moon boot seems an abundance of caution, but still the question remains... No side I can find in ANY sport has had 8 years of very-long injury lists. Have we played our best 22 ever in 8 years? If we could find & eliminate the problem we'd win the next half dozen flags!

The Club should probably have commissioned an external review.

Finally, good injury news for Magpies as stars return

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-02-18/finally-good-injury-news-for-magpies-as-stars-return

"Away from the main group, midfielders Adam Treloar and Tom Phillips were joined for some running by injury-prone trio in defender Darcy Moore and forwards Jamie Elliott and Ben Reid, along with Callum Brown and Rupert Wills.

Phillips was sore after Friday's match simulation, as was improving runner Josh Daicos, who completed some run-throughs by himself as he tried to deal with a corked left thigh."

De Goey moon walking to fitness

"Collingwood star Jordan De Goey is out of a moon boot and spending hours in hyperbaric chamber to be fit for the start of the season.
...

He has regularly attended the hyperbaric chamber - normally only heard about in finals though clubs use them during the year - to speed up the recovery."

Lyndon Dunne is a very popular and valued player both his play as well as his knowledge of the game (Bucks believe listens to him )

As he is still ramping up his training and a team leader 5 will get ya 10 he will be really involved in the team leader controlled Sat training

Adams set for finger surgery

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/2019-02-28/adams-set-for-finger-surgery

'Adams saw a specialist for the problem today, which has persisted for a number of weeks. A splint was discussed but surgery was recommended.

“The finger continually displaces, and has done so for some time. It had reached the stage where bracing the finger or taping it were not adequate solutions and it was not improving,” Collingwood GM of Football, Geoff Walsh, explained.'

Finger surgery to force Taylor Adams out of opening rounds

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/finger-surgery-to-force-taylor-adams-out-of-opening-rounds-20190228-p510vb.html

'Meanwhile, in better injury news, Jordan de Goey was back running again at training on Thursday as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Jeremy Howe has been returned to the full training program after the leg surgery to repair an artery at the site of repeat cork injuries.'

https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-03-05/injury-list-every-clubs-medical-room-ahead-of-jlt2

COLLINGWOOD

Taylor Adams - Finger (4-5 weeks)

Tim Broomhead - Leg (2 weeks)

Jordan De Goey - Foot (1-2 weeks)

Lynden Dunn - Knee (1-2 weeks)

Will Hoskin-Elliott - Knee (3-4 weeks)

Matt Scharenberg - Knee (Indefinite)

Daniel Wells - Foot (1-2 weeks)

Quote:
Early prognosis:

Adams is expected to miss the opening two rounds and Hoskin-Elliott could join him, while De Goey has made a faster-than-expected return to running and is on track to play in round one. Dunn and Broomhead aren't far away from full training, while Wells has made a breakthrough in his recovery from the Lisfranc injury that sidelined him for the bulk of last season. A longer-term view will be taken with Scharenberg as he comes back from a third knee reconstruction. - Ben Collins

We could start a new thread for a new season? I'll let the mods decide.
