Levi & Darcy have hamstring injuries. |
AFL site says Levi out with shoulder injury. Perhaps recurrence of injury from 2 weeks ago? |

Jack Higgins is in hospital for bleeding on the brain -- cause unknown.
Sounds scary. |
"Jack Higgins will have brain surgery next week following bleeding in his brain and faces months of rehabilitation...
Director of the Melbourne Brain Centre at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Professor Stephen Davis said, based on the information released by the club, that Higgins' condition was likely to be one of two conditions − cerebral vascular malformation ("birth marks on the brain"), or an aneurysm, ("bubbles on the arteries").
...
A cerebral vascular malformation − a "very, very rare" condition with a prevalence rate of 18 in 100,000 people - does not produce symptoms before bleeding and the condition can only be detected by a precautionary scan, which is uncommon.
He said the condition can result in spontaneous bleeding or come after trauma. "But most of them are spontaneous," he said.
Davis said the fact that Higgins has been discharged after two days and was well enough to greet visitors were "extremely good signs" that suggested the player's brain bleed was small."

Bloody hell.
Ok, now that the teams are names;
Quote: | Jeremy Howe - Calf (TEST) PASSED
Max Lynch - Shoulder (TEST) PASSED
Jack Madgen - Ankle (TEST) PASSED
Anton Tohill - Hip (TEST) PASSED
Scott Pendlebury - Finger (TEST) PASSED
Travis Varcoe - Finger (TEST) PASSED
James Aish - Shoulder (TEST) PASSED
Will Kelly - Leg (1-2 Weeks)
Daniel Wells - Knee (6 Weeks)
Dayne Beams - Hip/Mental Health (6-10 weeks/Indefinite)
Darcy Moore - Hamstring (TBC)
Ben Reid - Calf (TBC)
Tom Langdon - Knee (Indefinite)
Nathan Murphy - Back (Indefinite) Not named in the VFL as earlier stated. But I still think he'll be playing very soon.
Lynden Dunn - Knee (Season) |
Adding to the list....
Josh Thomas - Hip (Played VFL last week after being dropped and passing a fitness test on his hip. Is not named in the VFL team. I believe he should have been rested last week. Concerning).
Jamie Elliott - General Soreness. (Basically resting him and being over cautious).
John Nobel - Calf Soreness. (Disappointing, but it's likely that it's only one week. The club has learnt from playing sore players? Maybe not after JT. Or are we being over-cautious?). (Interestingly (oddly), he is named in the VFL team)
Levi Greenwood - Shoulder. (Bit of a contradiction with one site saying Hamstring tightness and another saying shoulder).
This in unreal. 7 players come off the list from Monday/Tuesday and 4 are added on Thursday.
Still waiting on timelines for Moore and Reid.
Kelly will be tested next week along with JT, Elliott, Nobel and Levi _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

When was the last time a debutante went down with the old man's injury, the calf, only at Collingwood?

Any word on whether Goldsack is injured? Was surprised he didn’t even get named as an emergency given the outs. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Given that we have been undermanned, why is Goldy not getting a go?
I know he is not in Bucks future plans, but surely his experience and leadership could help that backline .. _________________ 'MADE IT LEGENDARY' |

This injury not just cos John Noble is a new chum but that he fell for a calf after a block of three untroubled VFL games —would he have secumed to it whilst VFL and say after a VFL game had he played one Saturday
Quaynor has came from same situation and got thru—-is it the system or the individual??? _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Goldie is picked to play at fullforward in the VFL on Sunday. If you look at it, we have about 85 defenders on the list, so even with 43 of them unavailable we still have a surfeit. Eg, Scharenberg is still playing VFL and is listed as an emergency. Realistically, I think we expect Greenwood, Noble and Moore back shortly and even without Langdon, Goldie’s probably behind at least 3 or 4 others who aren’t presently in the team. At the other end, we are missing a number of very fine players (Stephenson, Elliott, Reid) and now Thomas is injured, too - and the cupboard looks much barer there, to me. Perhaps Goldie is being prepared to assist in the forward 50 as a defensive pressure player, if required. |

With Elliott so problematic, we need a back up forward in case of an injury/suspension to Stephenson, De Gohey, Mihocek, WHE or Cox. Goldy fits the bill perfectly, especially as he kicked our first goal in our 2010 Grand final! |

Goldsack played in the VFL last week, and has been named again in the VFL this week.
He had an injury niggle a couple weeks where he didnt play out the match. He underwent a fitness test and played in the VFL the following game.
So, it's possible he isnt exactly 100%, but he is playing in the VFL. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Just pointing out again that Nobel has been named in the VFL team. I find this quite odd. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I can only assume the club believes Noble might be right to play VFL on Sunday with an extra days rest but is to big a risk to select for the Saturday AFL game.
He showed more than enough in his debut IMO to warrant senior selection again. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |
