I love all our players. I love Grundy but let's nopt get too carried away.

He can be a bit unthinking in his tap work and at times too cute by half. He made a few terrible tap outs to disadvantage that cost us goals both last week & the week before.

He's great but he's stil;l very young in Ruck terms.

Having said that Grundy is a force and good on him.

I would say Taps to Disadvantage not be all Grundy's Fault

As a ruckman, if you can get clean hand on the ball it's your job to put it to a team mates advantage. That's an area that Brodie needs to improve, Cox is actually better at it.

IF that is the Case then Should Cox be our Number 1 Ruckman and Grundy be the Forward then?

No. Grundy is a really good ruck and plays almost as a tall mid around the ground. As an overall package he's a better first ruck than cox everywhere except centre bounces.

Grundy is certainly in our top few players, but he's still a kid, his best is still to come. I believe Pendles is injured rather than slowing down, it seems to be some kind of leg injury. And technically Wells is prolly our best player, for the 2 games per year he plays. Unfortunately CFC feels the need to feed us horseshoe about injuries every time. Remember how just about everyone was gonna make Rd1? Except maybe Elliot?

Now we've lost 2 guys for the season, Losing Goldy is gonna hurt us. and we've lost Moore (who I believe is actually our best player, he's gonna be a Riewoldt type) for probably a month. Treloar is up & down. he can be our best or not do much. 18 tackles against Footscray was incredible.

We just have too many injuries to get thru this shitty draw in the first 6. Just like all 7 of Buckleys seasons as coach. (and it's pretty clear already that he's learned zero - the last q against GWS made that obvious, thank god for the "review" you LIAR McGuire). Fortunately we have a crop of xlnt kids coming through led bt Maynard, DeGoey, & Murray. Crocker has picked a good time to find his feet, his strength should make up for his lack of height. DeGoey & Elliot will help us kick a score, but none of this will work while the coach can't build confidence in our guys, something else he's learned nothing about. Surely we know that each & every one of our guys can hit a teammate laces out 9 out of ten times, they do it at training every week, but without confidence on match day we are no hope. our skills have looked comical in the first 2, but they don't HAVE to be. Watch the 1st q against Syd. last year. we can play as well as the best, but until this coach learns or is replaced get used to finishing in places with 'eenth' on the end!

Also, when youre 17th, you should probably train up a first ruck that will still be on the list in 3 years.

Cox & McLarty are the obvious First Rucks after Brody, as well as Darcy of course but Brodes plays best when he's free to move around the ground. Part of me thinks we should be playing Pendles up forward more & playing Grundy as a kind of Ruck/Rover. His ground work is just getting better. He has Brownlow written all over him

What about Lynch. I might have him ahead of McLarty as Number 1 Ruck

He was brilliant again on Friday night. Was pivotal in the second quarter where the win was set up.

He was the dominant force on the ground tonight. He took Jacobs to the cleaners. 40 hitouts, 33 disposals and one wonderful goal on the run. That is the best game I have seen from a Collingwood ruckman since Peter Moore was at his early peak. I think it is well known that Sidey is my favourite player - yet, on a night when Sidebottom played one of his greatest games, I only had him second-best on ground.

Thats how good Grundy is.

Yes it is one of the best game he or she saw from a Collingwood ruckman Peter Moore was at his peak.

The man is a beast.

A dominant ruckman who plays like a midfielder.

We've had one of those before.

Disagree that Grundy was BOG. He was amazing, one of the best games I've seen from a ruckman. Still, Sidey was even better for mine. Can't go wrong picking either though.
