well done to the boys.
after 3 games in 11, days travelling north and playing in warm conditions against a club peaking for this game. A lot of mistakes but well done!!!!

We got the 4 Points but my god we where Unconvincing. Smashed just about everywhere on the Ground.
Guess you could say Good Teams find a way to win and we did Just .
Hopefully they learn some lessons. Saying we not as good as maybe they thought they would.
De Goey was Brillant. Stephenson did some nice things
BUT
Grundy was Well Beaten but they played Cox more in the Ruck and seen in Past it does not Work. Moore should of Come Back Thru thru VFL as head next to no Impact. Adams was just about non-existent. _________________ I am Da Man |

Take the points in a Gutsy win. For those Blair haters, watch the final minutes of the replay again.
Cox took some great grabs tonight. |

Adams hasn’t played in a month. Moore hasn’t played in a month. Crocker hasn’t played in 2 weeks. Blair and Mayne barely impact a contest, and Blair is still our lead up forward. In the meantime hardened bodies in form in the VFL, players in form (Fasolo, Daicos) languish in the reserves. Cut me some slack, the game just finished so I’m riled up, but seriously, these selections were asking. For trouble. All of us ‘amateurs’ online suggested as much. And it planned out EXACTLY how we predicted.
Bank the four points and forget about this one.
I guess we were accurate. _________________ Est. 2002 |

It was close the whole game. Feels like a relief & maybe we're maturing as a team coz we held steady when it mattered |

Guts, guts, guts, GUTS!!!
3 games in 11 days and we still beat an opposition on their home ground who were desperate for their first win.
An inspiring win, especially considering we were without Pendles for much of the second half.
A superb effort. |

Almost an inactive coaching box tonight. No attempt to lock down Zorko or Taylor and while barely 6 footers in Scharenberg & Appleby were being outmarked by McInerney & McStay, the bloke we trained for months of pre season to play in defence sat in our forward line struggling for a kick. Moore simply had to be moved. I can't think of a positional move Buckley made all game.
On field, a gutsy effort to win. In the box, I fear we saw a regression to Buckley of old. |

Err, how can team selections be wrong when you win a game of footy ?
Three games in 11 days ✔️
Long injury list ✔️
Lost the skipper through the game ✔️
Travelled interstate ✔️
FOUR POINTS ✔️✔️
If you can’t you get any joy from this win, then you are probably just one of those people who just aren’t happy unless you’re ....... unhappy. |

I don't know what that looked like on TV but live at the game we looked spent in the 3rd term. Our usual runners looked leg tired and we never really tried to handball and run at all for the whole game.
There smalls seemed to run in waves forward of the ball all day.
They actually played fairly well considering how shit they've been all season. They played like this was there GF and they had everything at stake.
At the end of the day the class difference showed when it was needed.
Sidey in the last term was important
JDG really stepped up
Cox took a couple really important grabs in the last 10 minutes
Any news on Pendles ?
4 points is 4 and hopefully we can move forward now that's out the way
Well time for me to go enjoy some more of Mr Coopers hospitality (did I tell what good beer they make ?) |

My son rang me from the game (I don’t go to the Gabba as I can’t stand lions’ supporters). He moved from the Brisbane end to the Pies’ end for the last quarter.
A lot of custard pies’ comments flying around the Gabba apparently.

My thoughts exactly. The team looked tired tonight, particularly in the last half when skill errors started to creep in. I don't think this is anything to worry about though, it can't have been easy backing up after so many games in quick succession.
I also don't think there were any problems with selection tonight. I'm surprised to be saying it, but Mayne and Blair both played their role. Moore probably wasn't ready to be playing in the 1's, but we really had no other option with Reid out.
Good effort, all things considered. |
