If you go by this article, Lynch isn't to pleased with Bucks:

If any truth to the article, we've probably gone from his 1st or 2nd choice to 3rd

COLLINGWOOD coach Nathan Buckley’s refreshing transparency around his personal meeting with Tom Lynch could cost “greatly angered” the star free agent at the time and could hinder the Magpies’ pursuit of him.

LOL.

Besides the typo, this is the biggest "jumping at shadows" thing you could write. Some of this stuff that is written is just pure tripe.

Next they'll be searching his rubbish bin Thursday night and suggesting that because there a 2 pie wrappers, then its a clear indication of his intent to accept the Pies offer!

Utter BS.

Buckley is a very good and careful media performer. I wouldn’t be surprised if his mentioning of meeting Lynch was a deliberate attempt to throw a cat among the pigeons (presumably because we knew Lynch was favouring Tiggers). I know he said later he could have handled it better etc, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more to it.

Media reports now suggest our $ are more, but Lynch favours Tiggers.

Given Reiwoldt has just re-signed I would have thought Lynch might see more football opportunities at Pies.

I still have mixed feelings about him (on huge $), but at least it will be an FA acquisition and we don’t have to give up anything trade-wise.

Well, if slightly is ~50% (for goals)...

It was clearly a mistake by Bucks to mention it. That's why shortly after, Ned Guy drove down to Lynch's parents home to apologise for putting Lynch under such media scrutiny as a result of Bucks' revelation. That was when Ned Guy had to jump over a fence to himself try to avoid the media.

Hopefully, the Lynch camp will understand it was a genuine mistake and not a deliberate attempt to pressure Lynch in any way.

not sure what you mean by "~50% (for goals).."

is 0.6 goals per game not slightly better?

Well, on your interpretation of events I imagine they are fairly unimpressed Bucks sent someone else to apologise for him.

The fact it was Ned Guy (not Bucks) suggests to me that they were talking potential deal.

None of the known facts are inconsistent with what I said above. I am not saying it was the case, just that I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be the case.

1.9 vs 1.3

0.6 in that context is pretty significant, 1.9 is 46% more than 1.3 in fact.

(I’m not making the case for Lynch by the way).

Fair enough, it is when you put it that way. Smile

Actually, looking at that link the Fas doesn't stack up too bad. Especially when he's struggling to get a game while the other is commanding a multi million dollar contract.

^^^ I’m actually a Faz fan, but he is clearly out of favour at club.

The thing I noticed was that Lynch had fewer average tackles per game (a common criticism of Faz).

Obviously they aren’t like for like, but still ...

not a bad effort for someone who has been injured ALL Year!

Read the rules

why?

Ignorance being bliss?

I place limited value in stats, especially for players who aren't outside mids. I especially dont like stats that purport to rate players relative to each other across different positions. It causes people to make silly statements as if they are facts (like "10 Coillingwood players would be better placed at CHF for Collingwood than Lynch" or "cant believe he thinks he's worth $x when this random stat says he is 160th best player in the league"). Stats can always be manipulated to prove a point.

He's already signed with someone mentally, the paperwork will happen in due course. It's just all selling papers.

Hard to make a tackle when the pill never enters F50.
