Have we gone Cold in Lynch as we are Barley Mentioned about having a Chance for his Services?

Quote:
Richmond is well known to be heavily into Gold Coast’s co-captain too, while Collingwood is believed be interested but not to the same level as the Hawks and Tigers.

The media wouldn't have an effing clue. As if Collingwood would be making public their keenness to land him? All that would do would be to push up his price.

Having said that, maybe the club is contemplating going after another type of player. There's a lot to play out here, and the pisshead journos are just trying to make headlines.

So are we supposed to believe the Tigers have room for not one, but two million dollar plus players, and Cotchin, Riewoldt, Prestia and Rance, who would all be on 700k ish?

Looks like they’ll be trading out a lot of players to make that happen...

Forget Lynch if he leaves the Suns he will be at the Hawks.
He's great mates with O'Meara and the Hawks are into him in a big way and have more cap space than us or Tigers do to land him.
Rance on the couch basically said he thought he would stuff up the Tigers forward line he didn't fit into there high pressure style.
At the moment my mail is he's more likely to stay at the Suns than he is to leave because the money on offer with the ambassador allowance from the afl will be much to large for him to walk away from. There's talk it would land him in the close to $2m a season ball park which no club in Melbourne will be able to get near.
He would have to sacrifice around $700k a season for around 6 seasons
Who would walk away from $4m ?

That was an interesting segment - Rance trying to politely say that he didn't think Richmond really needed Lynch. Laughing

Tend to agree. We will possibly pick up Will Kelly at 195cm under father son rules, so there’s one who should come to us as a draft pick.
He’s rocketing up the pecking order this year. Still early but he may be a pick in the 30s ( before discount )

Some recent drafting decisions:

Petracca / McCartin
de Goey / Wright
Stephenson / Brander

makes you think.

A couple of solid tall forwards is all that's needed. Supplement with a couple of de Goey, Fyfe, Martin, Dangerfield, maybe Stephenson types and you're much better off than having a star tall forward instead. You have players that can take a contested mark and at least compete against talls, can kick goals, can rotate through the middle eliminating the large number of dud games from a stay at home forward and can pressure and run to position. These are the players to spend money on.

Pretty much all supposed "star" tall forwards are overpriced and under-performing. Inconsistent, late starters and early finishers.

Surely a tall key position back is a priority

We've got Ned kelly's son available father son this year. That box ticked.

Yeah. I think Richmond have gone cold on the idea of getting Lynch. It comes down basically to us, Hawthorn or Geelong, who all fall into the window space of competing for a premiership in the next few years and have the salary space to accommodate Lynch. If Lynch leaves though, it won't be for the money because he will earn more staying where he is. If GC improves that's more reason for Lynch to stay.

Hawthorn is after him as a ready made replacement for Roughead, Richmond - Reiwoldt, Geelong - Hawkins. They aren't looking at a saviour to drastically improve their team, just replace like for like.
