Wells to be rested. I mean, it’s not like a win on friday will go a long way to helping our top 8 aspirations in a team bereft of footskills. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Maybe the club listened to all those people who complained about Reid being selected in the game he strained his Achilles ( the game where he lasted all but the last 2 mins ) |

To me, it is a sign of maturing development, when the focus begins to move towards team cohesion, from the focus on individual names. The best players are 'team first' and those who can bring their unique skills and abilities to the primary function of further 'strengthening' the team's ability to perform well. That is the ultimate win/win situation. I think when a team is lacking cohesion, we tend to focus upon certain individual players to somehow 'out-perform' the team effort, rather than adding to the overall team effort - if you get my drift. Regardless of the player's name, I want to see them performing the team role, first and foremost. The rest is 'cream on the top'. |

Pies $1.40
Dogs $3.00
Crown currently have us (round 17) $1.80 v WCE $1.95 , the only games they have us, not favourite, until round 19 is - v Melbourne (Rnd 12).
They have us going 7 - 1 over the next 8 weeks. I hope their market framer is on the money _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

With Wells out surely that opens up a space for Daicos or Sier.

Buckley will select Blair. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Yes and I think it's a great move
"The plan was (for him) to play the two, miss this week and play another two into the (round 13) bye, best-case scenario," Buckley told reporters.
"He's given us exactly what we needed and what we thought we would get in those first couple of weeks, so his long-term plan to get him right for the second half of the year is on schedule at the moment.
"It's a six-day break, back-to-back Etihad (Stadium), third game back at AFL level ... there's plenty of circumstances that would indicate that it's a prudent decision." _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Out : Wells, Appleby, Fasolo
In : Sier, Maynard, Brown
Greenwood in the mix for a tagging role could be considered. _________________ "One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told, eight for a wish, nine for a kiss, ten for a time of joyous bliss" |

What a shame we didn't sit Reid on the bench the entire fourth quarter after it was clear we weren't winning that game. Fatigue injuries in old men is a real issue. The club stuffed up with Reid. no doubt about it. Blind Freddie knew that Reid would get injured if he played on 4 days rest (i predicted as much in a post before the essendon game). The problem was made even worse by the fact that we were down i think two rotations. I wonder if he makes the difference vs Geelong.
As for Wells, i really support the move of getting him rest. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

My point is, no matter what the club does or doesn’t, it’s always destined to be damned if it does and damned if it doesn’t ( by some, not all )
I guarantee if we get beaten by the Dogs, someone will chirp up and say the club stuffed up by not playing Wells. Those people won’t be sport medicos but they will still know more than the club.
And I also guarantee IF we do make finals and Wells is ready to go, nobody will post “ what a smart decision by the club to rest him against the Dogs earlier in the year “ |

Maynard is probably a week away from returning, according to the Walsh injury report.
Out: Wells, Fasolo
In: Reid, Sier/Wills |

Some of clubs decisions in past have been baffling but they are reaping reward for the current powers that be
Their recruiting has been very good this season and their coach recruiting simalar
And I totally agree that when success does come and Wells is a link in it we will applaud the way he and others were engineered for the ultimate _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |
