Maybe why we kept Appleby in the side.

Look for Maynard to run with (or sort of generally near) Walters.

Last nights game in Sydney is a prime example of weak against strong sides

Blues outplayed Swans till halftime and led at the break

Third qtr (some call it premiership qtr) Swans got into gear and won

Not disimalar to our last few games where our competition played us well till we also got into gear and won—-this although you rather win all quarters
is what the better sides do

Point is we must compete at full tilt every game who ever it is

The good sides wear down opposition sides. That's what we have been doing lately. I'm optimistic the same thing will happen against Freo tomorrow.

Yep and one would hope we are wanting to be such a side than wins when challenged.

This builds confidence and can lead to a successful era

Our back six of Maynard —Dunne —Crisp
Greenwood-Scharenberg—Langdon

It has three real hard nuts and two very good intercept marks in Langdon and Scharenberg—— add Crisp the run and carry man

A very good mix

A little surprised by Maynard's inclusion. While I am a fan, he wasn't exactly setting the world on fire before injury and I'm not sure he's good enough yet to bypass a return through the vfl.

He's good enough alright. I expect him to look after Fyfe when he goes forward.

Interesting when you compare Maynard to De Goey. Similar size, build and age, both played just over 50 games, very similar stats. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=5&playerStatus2=A&tid2=5&type=A&pid1=4043&pid2=4059&fid1=C&fid2=C

2 young bulls.

Both hard nuts with a bit of mongrel in them.

Magpies should win, surely, we are better team all over the ground, despite injuries, yes, comfy win by 22 points for me. !!
