Wonder what it'd take to bring him back?

Correct me if I’m wrong back Jack Crisp has not missed A game since he joined us. A very underrated player by the way. Since his permanent switch to halfback he has been a gun.

Yes, played every game. Remarkable for a player we didn't even know at the time and the only reason I questioned whether we were getting full value in the deal.

Crisp since has proven to be a quality player in multiple positions and roles.

I don't think any team would take Beams over De Goey right now. What we did lose was the few years of development it took for De Goey to reach his current level (we eventually replaced this with Treloar). It's the same thing we'd likely lose if either De Goey or Moore left this year and would be a significant setback.

I don’t know. Blair’s got some good footy left in him - but we don’t want to be paying overs.

Durability his biggest strength, kicking precision his biggest weakness.
If only Wells could have his durability and Crisp the kicking precision of Wells, but at least it's not the other combination, Wells with the kicking precision of Crisp and Crisp with the durability of Wells.

People like saying things like: "We cannot play x & y in the same team." In that spirit, do you think that against the best opposition there is room in our best, most balanced team for both Greenwood and Adams?

I think the Bears will reflect on their decision to recruit Beams as a stupid one. He’s played 45 games in 4 seasons there for 7 wins and 38 losses. Dale Thomas was finished by injuries before he left us but even he has managed 70 games at hapless Carlton for 20 wins and 30 losses.

Just quietly, I'd like to point out that Daisy has been a very solid player for the filth, & excellent since his injuries finally cleared up. At the start of this season he said on Twitter that he felt fully fit for the first time since 2013. He's been among their best this year with 4x scores over 100 at Supercoach, & is their 4th highest score AND value in both Fantasy leagues. One of the reasons I'm equal 1st in the Nicks Supercoach league Razz

I dare say he would've been far better at Collingwood, as it took him 2 years to get used to being "Carlton", & losing MM.

Also, its worth remembering that Beamer wasn't a voluntary trade, it was forced on us by the need to be closer to his sick dad, who has, sadly, passed away since. I was a little suspicious whether the move was completely for the reasons stated, but then I'll always give the BotD to a Magpie player.

^ I still recall your many posts and outlandish predictions re Daisy at the time, 35F. I’m not surprised you put it “just quietly”. Wink

It's been a fantastic trade win for us, but, to be a bit pedantic, it's not entirely accurate to say that we obtained 3 players for one.
The number of players on the list is finite. I think the maximum you can have is about 41. So, if you think of Crisp taking Beams position on our list then De Goey and Greenwood are taking the positions that we may have otherwise filled with two rookies.

It's pretty safe to say though that Crisp+DeGoey+Greenwood > Beams+rookie+rookie.

I mentioned this is the Brisbane post-match thread a few weeks back:

We never get their first selection in the upcoming draft, and Brisbane select DeGoey with that pick, and Crisp also stays on in Brisbane. Do we still win today's game? F&cked if I know....

Wonder if Brisbane had that pick, would they have taken DeGoey, or perhaps Peter Wright?

The wonder of hypothetical scenarios...

Oh FFS!

Do you KNOW why y'all remember that ONE post?

Cos it was pretty much the only thing I was wrong about!
Of course if you wanna be picky... I said Buckley would have us out of the 8 in 4 years... I was wrong.
It only took him 3
And the only reason I was wrong was injuries, now that he's finally free of them he's among their best. As is Heater at GWS.
