Will not come back. There will be no attempt at a fairytale return like Chris Tarrant's. Mind you, Beams already has his premiership medallion.

Let us all remember that he is a Collingwood premiership player (even if his 2010 final series was ordinary) and a Copeland winner.

Chris Tarrant is exactly why we shouldn't even entertain it, forget it, a player chooses to leave then let them go, why does everyone always want a player back just because their new club is a failure? Bad luck, move on, when has it ever worked out?

Ive been critical of him in the past. To be fair, he is an attacking mid capable of finding the goals and an asset to a team that needs a top up in midfield talent to either help provide leadership to a young list or cream on a side who is contending.

We have so much midfield depth coming through with some elite middle age talent we just dont need him. And definitely don't need his salary given he will command decent coin. Add to that his injury history he is just not a target for us.

Id like to see Sier, Wills, Brown, Brown II, Daicos, Aish when fit, Murphy, Broomhead If fit and even have Stephanson get midfield minutes.

There is no coming back. Ever.

There was some real smartar5e about the way he said that too.

I'd show this video to Darce and Jordy right now. Two boys so rapt to be Pies. Already done hard yards and now they are just about driving the bus. They can drive us to a flag.

Id have him.

Take away the emotion - this bloke is in the top 10 for midfielders of the competition.

Hes the same age as Sidebottom (28?), you would say he will play until he is 32ish and at the end of next year he will come as a free agent.

Can play midfield and forward. Would replace Wells.

No, he isn’t. He’s a year older (dob Feb 1990 vs Jan 1991).

It would be judged on what his body is like at the time anyway.

We took Wells with known calf issues older than what Beams will be, im sure Beams at the same point in time will be a safer bet then Wells when you take body into consideration.

You would only consider this if he was a free agent too.

FWIW, I cant imagine him seeing out this current contract for another 12 months and then deciding to leave on the eve of 30.

Not in a pink fit. His brother is useless too. He got out when the going got tough and hasn’t fired a shot since he left. Stuff him. Crisp is twice the player he is now.

Damo, totally off topic, but... was told as a cricketer, Clay was perhaps the best wicket-keeper outside shield level in the country, with the fastest hands, and stands up at the wicket to pace bowlers etc.

Dyso Claye played 1st grade cricket on the Gold Coast as 15yr old. He made many junior rep sides (as did Dayne) and he was a keeper/batsman
He was indeed a very accomplished keeper and how far he could have gone is unknown. He decided after having a few years away from playing afl to give it a go the season after Dayne was drafted

Lions saying theres nothing in it. But apparently there was some up there saying he wanted to return to Victoria.

If he was a free agent, they'd be a lot more to this. But since a trade would need to be made, I cant see the Lions making any deals.

32 possessions and 5 goals in a losing team on the weekend. BOG 2 weeks in a row.
We don't need him, but those suggesting that Crisp is a better footballer are seriously deluded.

He was always good at getting a goal when there was no pressure and it didn't matter. 4 of those 5 goals came in the last quarter when the game was well and truly dead. "A smattering of goals in a losing team" may as well be his motto.

I was a Beams fan, but he never played a good final. Was actually lucky to have played in the 2010 GF (and replay). Still wish Leon hadve stayed in the replay squad ahead of him.
