When Darcy is fit and ready to return, it seems (according to Bucks himself) that he's more likely to play up forward, than as a defender, given the settled and good form of our current back 6.

So potentially we could have Moore, Reid and Cox available as key forwards, to fill only 2 spots.

In that eventuality, I'd like to see Moore come in to replace Reid, as I think Cox and Moore offer our best key forwards combination. Any thoughts?

This is assuming a best case scenario when either both or one of Moore and Reid are not in the sidelines nursing injuries - which is the more probable scenario.

Only one can hold his own in the ruck, so there’s half your answer.

Given the fragility of Reid and Moore, I reckon we have more chance of McLarty debuting before we ever have the luxury of choosing any two of the first three.

If we discard the notion of set positions, there's no reason why all 3 can't play.

Cox and Reid as deep but wide forwards, with Moore using his athleticism to play high half forward / wing, provide the link up between half back and half forward.

Reid goes off for a spell, Moore can go deep. He's athletic and versatile, so sue his strengths.

All three can also play if (as Buckley said in the same interview) Grundy plays as a midfielder. This would leave the ruck to be shared with, say, Cox and Moore, leaving Reid to play forward.

I didn't hear the interview but as stated above I think Buckley is playing games with his audience. We play sling shot football with the opposition with our only nominal positions full back (Dunn) and ruck (Grundy). Every other team member apart from the lucky ones who rotate out of the centre share periods behind the ball and in front of the ball. So talking about Moore's favourite position or Reid's favourite position is really not serving the team's best interest.

Longer term, Moore may well replace Dunn as a key defender, especially if we land Tom Lynch to partner with Cox up forward.

But this year, I reckon Moore could well force Reid out of the side.

yes, its also going to be difficult to fit Elliot, Fazolo, Stephenson, De Goey, WHE, Broomhead and Crocker in one forward line.

Maybe we should discuss more realistic issues.

Realistically, Fasolo, Broomhead and Crocker are not in our best 22. Rolling Eyes

Yes i know Rudey. I was more observing on the fact that usually we are lucky to have two of the three healthy. Lets worry about which of these 3 are in our best 22 IF we ever get that luxury (which is highly unlikely).

Right now its whichever of the three are healthy enough to play.....
