I have been trying to come up with the team who we should be most concerned about on the MCG ( in the presumption of playing finals )

I can come up with plenty of teams who have weapons but I keep going back to our ability to GENERALLY control the game between the arcs.

For me, it all comes back to an oppositions ability to apply pressure and force us into mistakes.
On the back of that, I still rate Richmond as our biggest fear and then Geelong who seemed to unlock the key to controlling us by pressing right up and applying pressure on the ball carrier. The Cats have no rucks but they do have a deep mid field like us.

Any thoughts ? Am I missing someone ?

Richmond would be the most obvious club.

They're currently on a 15 match winning streak at the MCG.

It'll be interesting to see just how proficient WCE become playing away...
I guess we probably won't play them on the MCG unless it's the GF.

We will absolutely shit on Richmond when next we meet. Only injuries crueled us last time, and we have improved considerably since then. We have a much better and deeper midfield, a dominant ruck combination which will determine the result.

It would have to be Richmond-I think they've won 15 in a row there. The other clubs, especially the interstate clubs, don't play very well there,so they don't worry me so much.

Tigers and Hawks. We also don't play the Power well.

The Cats not so much of a concern, we have a good recent record against them. They were missing Hawkins when we played (a big boost) and we were missing S.P (a big loss) and then lost Phillips during the game just when we'd got back into it. Don't forget they struggled to score as much as we did and it was our inaccuracy that got us into trouble - unusually, as we are either the most or one of the most accurate teams in the comp.

I'd be quite comfortable playing WCE and Port on the MCG. Unfortunately to get to the GF we would need to play either team on their home ground. I imagine that won't be easy. If we play Hawks again I'm confident we can beat them. Richmond and Cats at the MCG will be tough.

Just line them up and we will have a red hot crack

Don’t think this side in any way shape or form resembles the 2014 thru 2017

Believe ,believe boys and girls

Interesting that no one has even mentioned the Kangas ( although I understand that they aren’t likely to be seen as our major threat )
We play them on the G in round 18.
Thankfully it’s not at Etihad and we can learn a bit more about both sides in relation to September.
We both play a similar game style but both teams strengths and weaknesses are almost directly opposites.
