Anyone ready yet to admit they maybe went a little overboard on assessing that trade? Who is going to be the first to admit that there are some posts out there that might look a little off the mark at this point (maybe even embarrassing)?

Boy, he's really found his niche. Strong body in the packs, a good link from inside to outside. No penetration in his kicking but boy he is proving to be a great link man and a very tough footballer!

Well done to Bucks for not gifting him a spot in the side and making him earn it. There is something to be said for making players earn their place in the team!! been saying that for years.

I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen over the past few weeks. Seems a really solid contributor right now.

yeap he's been good and getting better - just remember we paid for fabulous. As a decision it is one that owes us a couple of years (not Mayne)

Today was his best game, 19 disposals and 5 clearances.

I know the tide has turned when I heard myself today referring to him during the game as ‘Maney’

Our last 2 games as well as the Adelaide game have been our best.

I’d argue the current 22 are our best.

The way Mayne is playing, he's definitely best 22. Gives us a target up the ground, puts on great pressure (6 tackles) and even winning clearances (5). Importantly he's a mature body and an experienced head instead of playing a 19 or 20 year old.

Time for the club to get an official Chris Mayne wig in the merch store. We had the MCG full of MND beanies, I wanna see the ground packed full of Mayney wigs now, preferably on grand final day while he gets presented with the Norm Smith medal

He got made to work for it, dropped some KG and picked up some speed, and the coaches trying him in a different role shows adaptability and nouse.

Playing well at the moment. Strong body, cool and experienced head, very good link man.

Yes, he's certainly in the top 35 players on the list, now. Great to see him work his way up.

you would think that Moore, Reid, Elliott/Fasolo, Varcoe would come in to todays team....

Daicos, Mihocek an probably Langdon make way... so Mayne will come under pressure.....

Hmm, if you don't think Elliott & Moore can add something, I'll tend to disagree. Maybe Aish

Can't tell me Daicos is best 22. Elliott over him.
Moore over Mihocek, although I like his contest and accurate kicking
Greenwood will have to add some touch.
Mayne is playing his role, but perhaps Varcoe also comes in.

It would be so great if we could eventually swap Elliott for Daicos or Wells. That's a huge upgrade and makes our dangerous forward mix even more deadly.

Just a dream at the moment unfortunately.
