call me a ole softy but i loved Maynard's game. I have been a fan since game one and many on here were not sold. But he has really been solid all year

Yep... he is hard at it

i converted re Maynard about 18 months ago. I now think he's a beauty. But you are distrcting us.

The point is to try to understand why certain pies fans just refuse to give Langdon ANY credit. Nearly everyone has Langdon in the votes, quite a number had him as our best player. And yet piedys blames him for the loss and qldmagpies, who is a stats junkie, couldnt find a vote for the guy who was second in ranking points for us, even though he is a player whose best contribution are the intangibles that don't get ranking points.

I'm in the minority as I think he is flaky. Edit: So was Maxwell early and late doors

If he gets a haircut he could even be a future captain.

Actually, did anyone else notice how so many of the boys had obviously just had hair cuts tonight. A team thing?

Anyway, I reckon Langdon is okay and his game tonight was very much in the positive for us, seeing as he really only had Crisp and Maynard along side as part of the regular defence.

Collingwood FC on Twitter.

Getting the appreciation he rightly deserves.

He's coming good at the important end of the season, much like several of his fellow whipping boys Mayne, Varcoe, Adams and Greenwood. Fewer clangers and dumb free kicks against than at the start of the year. Will be interesting to see whether he can take the next step and improve his disposal to the extent that he can be a genuine star HB flanker like Heater and pre-name-change Harry O used to be.

To put it bluntly we would be up a river without a paddle if Tom wasn't playing.

His brother was amongst the best on the weekend too. Maybe we should lure him over.

Tommy's brother was considered to be the better of the two when they were younger. Ed is a fine player but I'm not sure we need another mid, just now.

Perhaps we should play for "The Langdon Cup" in round 23? Qld67 would love that! Wink

Great game tonight.

Here's an original thought: How about Langers for future captain?

(P4S where are you?)

Kinda shocked he wasn't the one who started this thread...

With Sidebottom standing in as Acting Captain for a rested Pendlebury...?

If he cuts out the turnovers he'll be one of the best halfbacks in the comp.

Excellent intercept mark and very good in one on one contests, got lots of time for Tom.
